That's funny I was just looking for a USB scope last night! I have an eyeclopse "kids toy" that I take pic's with now and it works good but I was looking for one that I can plug into a laptop and get a big screen pic of what I am looking at. The eyeclopse is kinda hit and miss if you get a good pic of the trich's. Don't get me wrong it works fine I just wanted a better scope. What kind did you get bro? I was looking at some in the $100 price range, but it is hard to tell what is a good one and what is a ripoff.
yeah, as arthor mentioned, we thought about an eyeclops, but out of the hundred or so trich pics I found from them online, only 2-3 were in good focus. We weren't sure if it was the user, or the device, but we decided to go with something else in case it was just hard to get a proper focus on it. We ended up getting a Celestron kit with a model #44320 scope and a digital camera eyepiece. Whole thing was $76 with s&h. I left my camera at arthor's last time I got flower pics, so I think I'll head over there with it and I can post some pics tonight or tomorrow of it, and with it :)

And not to pre-empt a smoke report, but we sampled a bowl of the lav/bbs and I have to say it was incredible! Smoke report on the pink KF will probably happen this weekend (I hope), and the lav/bbs smoke report either next week or the weekend after this upcoming one :) Besides having to wait on a cure, we also like to do our smoke reports before we smoke anything else that day, so sometimes it takes us a few days till we can do a morning smoke together to report on :)

So got the scope going (forgot to take pics of it though, will throw those up later).

The microscope itself is pretty nice for the money. Crisp images, so much better than our $14 radio shack piece of crap. The colors are vibrant. Can't wait to need to look at samples for harvesting :)

The camera isn't quite so hot. You can see for yourself, but it's just not easy to get a good focus from it. I'm going to email them a few pics from it and make sure there's nothing wrong, but for the price it could just be a crappy camera. Anyway, you can see for yourself. This about as good pics as I could get of a bud (the bud was dried and cured already).

On the good side it's two separate parts, so we can upgrade the camera without changing the scope, or vice versa :)

Purple Killing Fields is ready to do a report on.

Appearance: Incredibly dark purple. Covered in liberal amounts of trichs. Medium-loose conglomeration of medium-dense cattails. Green stems and tips of bud leaves, most green removed in trimming. The contrast between the crystals and the purple makes the crystals really stand out!

Odor: Strong petrol (solvent) odor and a strong floral undertone. That's pretty much it; not a terribly complex odor, but quite strong.

Taste: This plant was ripe faster than we expected and didn't get a proper flush period, we believe that the taste suffered as a result, however it by no means was terrible :) Heavy spice with a hint of petrol, and a slight earthy aftertaste. Smooth with a medium throat burn going down. Light smoke, Easy to hold hits in.

Potency: This was quite potent compared to everything we have grown before. We each felt sufficiently stoned after 3 hits, and with our tolerances we usually need to smoke twice as much to get there. Though we've both encountered stronger, it's been rare. This was right on par with the potency we've found in typical a-dam/vancouver/dispensary.

High: Energetic high with a heady stone. Great daytime smoke, has a tendency to keep you up for at least 45-60 min, so not such a great bedtime smoke. Quite visual (slightly grainy with vibrant colors), but lacking the pressure change in your eyes/temples that some visual strains can cause.

All around this was not the most tasty (though with a proper flush it might be better), but was incredibly potent. The bag appeal of pure dark purple nugs was top notch. We showed it around to a number of heavy smokers and got nothing but wow's and ohh's and ahh's before even taking a hit.
Great report. I am smoking a KF purple pheno myself atm and it is very potent when compared to other potent varieties such as Jack Herrer and SSh. I aqm in the process of ordering a couple of packs to put outside this summer.

Appearance: Green and purple splotched with pinks (nearing on reds) mixed in. Th purple blotches are as dark as the purple pheno, but when mixed with the green and reds leaves a pink and/or blue hue. Liberally coated in trichs, more so than the purple pheno. Dense cattails (much more dense than the purple).

Odor: Strong petrol odor, similar to the purple KF, but more strong. This odor is 100% caused by the trichs (obvious if you smoke a bowl of pure kief), and this was much more frosty than the purple, so that is to be expected. It has a strong dank undertone, which the purple lacked, but the pink has none of the floral spice odor which the purple had in spades.

Taste: Strong petrol taste with a slight acrid edge and a dank throaty feeling. Not very complex at all, and primarily it's the petrol which stands out. The smoke is thick, and easy to smoke, with none of the slight throat burn going down which the purple caused, and easy to hold in.

Potency: It's very similar in potency to the purple, however it's a little more creeper (after 3 hits each we wanted more, but by the time we loaded another bowl we didn't need more).

High: Definitely high, but less energetic/nervous than the purple. Great daytime high, but less of a good wake and bake than the purple, and a better bedtime smoke (due to it being less nervous of a high). Still induces lengthy conversations, and stimulates the mind. Very relaxing body effect, probably good for medicinal pain relief.

This plant also didn't get the greatest flush (it was also earlier than we thought), so possible that the flavor was effected. We have a clone from it coming down that will get a proper flush, so we'll know for sure in ~4 months.

Will upload pics to go with this report tonight!

Whats up Gobby. I think you may be having yield problems due to over crowding you grow room. The way you bunch the branches on each plant is going to keep full lumens from reaching many of the leaves. I think you got your growing down well but the overcrowding is still a slight problem. Just my opinion bro take for what it is. How long is until that Herc finishes?

To a certen extent I think your right. We still have yet to have a harvest where the plant hasn't been moved around or not had sweeping changes mid flower. Another thing is that we have been dealing with an infestation. We noticed that one of our back plants leaves were looking weird and we found thrips chilling, sucking water and nutes out of the leaves. There is some damage on other plants but for the most part they are only on the hairy/big whit (maybe it has a weakness for them or something cuz their also going after the clones of her much worse than the other plants). We have 2 kinds of predator bugs coming that love thrips so hopefully they will be eaten, but I can't help but wonder if earlier harvests had small amounts of the little fucks munching them. We will keep ya'll posted on the infestation. I'll also post grow room pics in the next day or 2. I believe that the first Hurk gets harvested on the 7th and it is looking very tasty.

Hey guys if I were you I would bump up to 7 gal buckets. Maybe do a side by side on a couple of plants and see if that helps push out some more bud. Maybe if they can stretch out a lil you might get a bigger yeild? My Sour Kush that I wasn't to excited about just weighed out at a lil over 2 oz's. And by a lil over I mean 1-2 grams! ;) I really like using those 7 gallon pots, all my plants really fill them in and like the extra room. Just a thought guys it looks like you do have the room to bump up a lil, I would give it a try and see if you get any better results.

Thats sounds good. I think you guys do some good grows for sure and grow some nice healthy plant. I think as soon as you guys get all your grow rooms setup and you figure out the optimum spacing, the yield will just pop out for you.

I cant wait to see the herc all done. I just ordered the Extrema. Sannie has it in fem now and i hear that shit is his most potent indica, a real killer! lol. Cant wait.

I have these super long cat tail type growths at the top of some buds. the rest of the bud seems to be pretty dense and full. i'm wondering if more bud is going to grow and fill the top of the cola in or not. what is causing this weird growth? any help at all would be much appreciated. Love and Light!

Also i'm wondering is Kush requires a higher ppm of nutes and if i should be using more flowering food then normal. Leaves on vanilla kush are deep purple and yellow. also pretty crisp. any ideas??????
