I went out and got myself a little heater, should I run the heater with my timer or keep the heater on 24 hrs? It's 1 pm where I am and is currently 55 degrees in my shed and at night it can get down to low 40's. Let me know what you think?

My heater has a low and a high setting so let me know please, I don't wanna cause to much heat if that Is possible with how cold it can get here

Strange you should post this. I just posted a thread in the indoor growing section about heating my tent. I've been growing for years but never in a tent in an unheated garage. I'm likely going with an oil filled heater. Call me overcautious but I'm not always home and I could never leave one of those ceramic heaters running when I'm not home. The oil filled heaters are much safer.

I take it this is an outdoor shed? Regardless, the best option is to use a heater with a thermostat so you can just leave it on and allow it to maintain whatever temp you set it at. You can also get a separate thermostat.

I have never had to deal with this myself but I plan to run the heater during the day and lights at night. My lights go on at 12:00 am and off at 11:00 am. I run 11 on 13 off. It gets colder at night that's why I have the lights on when I do. I rarely check on my plants but having them on in the morning allows me to take a peek if I want before they go off for the day.
I think you'll need to just wait and see how warm your tent stays before deciding how long the heater needs to stay on. I'm not worried about heat while the light is on. I'm concerned when it goes off so I plan to put my heater on a timer to go off when the light goes on and on when the light goes off.

Is it good to flower 11 on 13 off?

It works for me. Haven't noticed any difference than running 12/12. I set it that way when we were having 100 degree temperatures to help keep the temps down. Never bothered to change it back. Plant's are doing fine.

So are you back to 12/12?

I've been in flower for 23-25 days. I switched to 12/12 like 40 days ago, I have a plant that is super close to the light and I wanted to do 11 on 13 off but someone told me not too, I just didn't want that extra hour of light everyday cause it does add up I think. My plant is super tall and really close to the light, I have it tied off and away from the light ass much as possible, my question is can I switch to 11 on 13 off now or should I just stay 12/12? I would say I have 42 days left until harvest

You might as well stay at 12/12 now that it's getting colder. I went to 11 when it was hot to help keep the tent cool. That was the only reason. I just forgot to change it back on my current crop. I'll go back to 12/12 once I harvest my current crop.
Why do you not consider being in flower from the day you switched to 12/12? I consider flower the day you switch not when you start seeing pistils. I switched my current crop on 8/22. I plan on cutting in about ten days which will be 8 weeks. But that all depends on what the trichomes look like. They're getting close. Maybe two weeks. We'll see.
Switched to 11/13 on 8/22. Blackberry OG starting to show some color.

I've had a friend that has grown for alittle while and he has always just started his flower day the first day he starts seein the pistils

It doesn't really matter when you count the days from. The plant isn't ready to harvest until it's ready. Last grow I didn't even write down when I switched and have no idea how long they were in flower. I chopped when they were ready.

I'm growing in a detached garage that a previous owner divided into 1/3 - 2/3's split. The back 2/3's is about 13' x 13', and that's where my two grow tents are (2x4 + 3x3). That area is fairly well insulated at this point, and that makes all the difference in the world. The outside temps here vary but this time of year average in the mid-50's during the day and the mid-40's at night. I'm running all COBs, which do not produce as much heat as other lights, and I'm totaling about 750 watts output. At this point I'm dealing with too much heat, not too little.

I'm having some humidity issues there, but the dehumidifier puts out enough heat that I can only run it when the lights are out (for me that's at night). Our outside temps are still moderate, but fluctuate a lot depending on which direction the weather is coming from. So far I'm constantly adjusting things out there to deal with temperature fluctuations. Once it gets cold enough here to run a heater on a separate thermostat, things should start to take care of themselves.

I would recommend insulating your shed if its not already, check your humidity since it's a closed space, and keep an eye on your power usage -- once you start to add heaters to the mix you want to know your total power usage vs. your amps going in. If its not an insulated space, running a heater can get very expensive because its going to work hard. Just some thoughts.

The shed doesn't have actual insulation everywhere in their, but the majority of the room has 2 inch thick padded reflective insulation, and I have the shed split in half kinda with a wall I made and I hang a bunch of blankets from ceiling to ground to keep all the heat it. Grow room is a lot warmer then other part of shed. My heater ran all night long and this morning their was a huge change. Before heater the humidity was at 80 and temp was at 51, right now my humidity is 64 and temp is 61

You're moving in the right direction. Low temps will slow down the plants metabolism so they won't grow as much, mid-to-high 70's is a more optimal place for them to be while the lights are on but the whole picture needs balance; temps, amount of light, distance of light to plants... all the factors interact.
