Indoor CFL refrigerator grow.

Hey guys! this is my first real grow... so save your frustration! I am here to learn! I am starting this grow in a side by side fridge/freezer. I am using normal potting soil, and need to know what nutes to get? This grow is using 3x 23watt CFLS, and 4x 40 watt t8 fluorescents. I am going straight to 12/12 time, hoping to flower fast. The area is 15"x23"x55" tall. Anything you guys have that can help just let me know, i'll start posting pictures ASAP.

Oh, Also, the fridge used to be a keg fridge, so i have a CO2 line running into it, with a full tank of CO2. I assume it will be beneficial if I keep the fridge filled with CO2?

Alright, so plants have sprouted, 2 still have the seed shell on them. I have the lights on 18/6, what is the best light cycle for fast growth? keep in mind I am switching to 12/12 at 2 weeks at the latest... I am going with biobizz fish mix as fertilizer.

Lower that light or else u will have all stem and u will definitely need support or more stem= less nugs

Alright, that CFL is now about 1 inch above the plant. i dont want to go any closer because between now and 20 hours from now I expect it to grow a half inch aha. I figure just leave the one 23 watt cfl on really close for now, and add supplementary lighting once i have a better vent set up.

1" should be good but keep em real close to avoid super stretch not being a duck just passing on knowledge. So what r u doing about nutes cause eventually u will need them

Alright! light is almost touching and I am checking every 6 hours. I forgot to mention, because its a refrigerator, and relatively air tight, and already had holes for a CO2 line, I have been flooding it with co2 to promote growth. I assume this is a good thing?

Update, 2nd set of leaves is coming in, stem isn't stretching. I added some miracle grow blue shite fertilizer to the water, and it seems to be helping, let me know what you guys think!
Also I re germed the failed seeds after letting them freeze in a paper towel, 6 more!

Hey Bud,
Check out my journal. I too am using a side by side fridge. Or was- i was just using the fridge for its insulating properties with getting the seedlings started. The space i was using was pretty chilly so used the unplugged fridge to keep some of the warmth off of the bulbs.
I would definitely recommend getting the light closer to the plants, and i kept the door cracked for airflow- you don't want an air tight chamber. Looks like you have room in the pot to add soil around that long stem, that should promote roots to grow right off the stem and leave you with a bushier plant. I am fairly new at this myself- just passing along some tips i have found.
Another thought- clean that fridge! I don't mean to bust balls but if there is any mold or other critters growing in there i would hate for them to somehow get onto your plants- Im a bit of a neat freak that way. Im guessing as a beer fridge there is probably quite a bit of bacteria in there.
Good luck!

I'll get on cleaning it after I'm done my house aha ;) I transfered it to a bigger pot, looks to be about a gallon, 8x8"x6", the first set of leaves is browning at the tips, any help? I'll post pictures later.

Tips of the first real leaves went brown, the leaves were about 2" long. I trimmed to tips, flushed with clean water, and backed off the lights a bit.

Have you checked out the plant help forum? There is a lot of great information over there. Posting pics will help others help you.
Could be from the light but also sounds like maybe a Phospherous defficiency? Whats your soil Ph and what is the breakdown of your fertilizer (#-#-#) Nitrogen-Phospherous-Potassium. You mentioned using miracle grow but they make a lot of fertilizers.

Here are some pics of the plant in its new container... I buried about 1/2" of the stem, and it has gotten alot bushier, but leaves are starting to die and brown? It is very light coloured.... It is now in general purpose potting soil from canadian tire, watering with 1/2 strength miracle grow 15-30-15, lights on 24/0.inpain.jpgpoorbaby.jpg
