Indica and Sativa in same grow tent?

I have questioned other growers in my area and have heard "go ahead, it's not a problem" and "I never do that, I grow them in seperate tents"...but never really elaborate as to WHY?

Any opinions on the subject?

I am doing it now and there is an issue with light height between the two. Sativas are taller and usually faster growers so your indica may not get the fair share of light.

because the sativas will grow 2 to 3 times taller than the indicas. So the indicas won't be getting enough light unless you keep raising them up on higher and higher stools to keep the top at the same height as the sativas.

People have different opinions because they here someone say something and they go with that, thats why you don't have explanations. True reason why some people wouldn't do it, is because of the light cycle differences preffered by each race of plant.

Are you going to be growing a full 100% Sativa plant? If its just a higher amount of sativa in a hybrid, I wouldn't worry one bit. I have both 95% Sativa strains and some higher indica strains going in the same are and they are doing fine, the sativas are not towering over my other plants,819511743-SANY2205.jpg as you can see my high sativa haze plants over to the right they are completely in line with the higher indica plants.

maybe you are just lucky? I don't see any real sative dominant or indica dom plants in that picture, btw. They all look fairly similar. I tried growing both together one time. The sativa's grew to almost triple the height of the indicas. I had to keep raising the indicas up higher and higher. Eventually I had the indicas on pedestals that were 24"+ high to keep close to the top of the sativas. That was with a 5 week veg.

I am growing indica and sativa in the same tent without any problems.

how far into flowering are they? mine were close together in vegging. It was when flowering started that the sativas took off and shot way over the indicas.

almost 6 weeks into flowering. I'm doing an SOG grow so my sativas are not getting too big. I should have said that earlier.

If you let the plants do the work, then yes, they will overgrow the others, but its all about the training.

And by the way, the 4 to the right are Neville's Haze Hybrid and are 95% Sativa.
