TRUE when i wake up in the middle of the night thers always 1 rolled ready, or ill av a pipe,,
usually a j and a few pipes before i get out of bed
then when i go downstairs ill av a j with a cuppa,,lol
then ill roll another up for while im tending to crops and so on and so on,,

and smokeing around my crops has never effected the crops,
Yo man, I'm not one to judge people, but it sounds like you seriously need help. Do you even get high anymore, or is just returning to status quo? At what point did smoking stop being fun for you and turn into necessity? You said earlier you are thousands of dollars in debt and smoking over an OZ a week? That's nuts.

I like smoking as much as the next guy, and I do it often throughout my day, and have been for many years now, but if it ever got to the point where I NEED it instead of WANTING it, I would put that shit down in heartbeat.

Maybe you need another hobby or something, I don't know. But if you were one of my friends (I mean, we're all friends here right?) I would be seriously concerned for you and try to get you help.

You're a slave to pot. You literally can't function without it. That sucks.

Maybe try to ween your way off of it a little. Try doing a few small things NOT high, like reading a book, and then reward yourself after with a J. Work your up to bigger things, like going to sleep or going to work. You can still wake and bake, you can still smoke after work, just try to cut back a little. You'd be saving money and saving yourself...

As I said, I'm not one to judge, and I don't have any experience with really being addicted to anything (except sports...playing and watching them), but I think you should consider trying to break yourself of this dependency. You can still smoke, just try to do it less.

All things in life are best in moderation. This situation is proof you can have too much of a good thing. Good luck to you Herbal Addict:leaf:

man, i dont understand. do you work?(not being negative) how can you grow and still not have enough for yourself even with smoking constantly? just invest in a few 1000w hps and all that stuff and you'll be set.

no it doesnt kill brain cells it damages the nervous system,, i dont mean it makes u nervous, it slowly over time damages nerve endings.. depending what and how much u smoke,,
however it aint something u really notice apart from twiches, unless it effects the nervs in your eyes or testicles, and this unfortunatly is what its done to me, imagine a bad head ache and then imagine having all that pain + more coming from a single eye,, it forces u to shut the eye and re-open it up to 5 hours later when the pain dies off a bit,,
now imagin your ballsack being crushed then poked with a cocktail sticks,, ill tell u,, its enough to make any 1 cry,, it cud last 1 second or 1 week..
wen u imagin nerves dying off u wud think (if a nerve is dead it cant hurt any more) but it aint dead ,its dring off and its still connected to the whole system

but this has took 13 years of constant smoking it to do this, smoking more joints than people do cigaretts,,

i owe over 5000 in bank loans from the last 3 years, i can only afford 1 to 1n a half oz per week,,
so in the last 3 year i smoked 200 per week + another 5000 pounds worth on top,

still i wud not stop smoking it,,

as far as addictivness goes some people get hooked some dont
so for some one who aint addicted to say that it isnt addictive is just fucking plain stupidity

if i had some one sat in front of me now tellin me to quit cos its not addictive, id cave their fucking head in,,
ganj can totaly rob u of your life,,as it has to millions ov people,,

peace people,, no arguements,, im sayin it how it is
This is hands down the SCARIEST post I have seen on RIU. I mean dude, read this back to yourself and make a justifiable argument as to why YOU should still be smoking... It sounds like you have dilibretly harmed yourself well past the point of no return. Have you considered a rehab or stopping?

You should have made this a poll.

I think it boils down to the individual ingesting the drug. I believe that people who are prone to addiction have a higher chance of becoming addicted.

I also believe that it is all in the individuals head. I don't believe that pot itself is chemically addictive and does not create a state of dependence in the user. The only thing that creates the dependence is the user not the drug.
I agree with synder. It all depends upon the individual. If they have the genetics to become addicted easily it can happen.

And fact, pot is not physically addictive. Mentally, yes.
I've quit smoking for 6 months at a time with no problem.

Its good to take a break sometime. I'm getting ready to.

The only thing I'm "addicted" to about weed is that I feel stress
free and like I'm floating, laughing, and having a great time when I'm
high. Who doesn't want to feel stress free?

Damn, reading this page kinda made me feel like
crap.

I just smoked an oz and a half this past month if not more...

:?

I know, I know.

Its still a fun thing for me to do, but starting in a week or two, I'm
quitting again. I've been slacking in school.

if i start, then i tend to want to smoke night after night. once i stop and run outa bud for a few days then i reset and i'm good with out it...it's a habitual thing for me, not so much addicting though.

Def how i am...and if i know I have a drug test coming up i quit for about a month get the test done then smoke back up till the buds gone lol I can see how it may be addictive mentally but I'd never go out of my way to make sure I'm smoking when I have to rather than wanting that jus doesnt seem fun when you have to...I enjoy it as much as the next person but I don't look into doing to the point where I feel dependent on it...

If feeling alive, focused and like your floating a foot above the floor, is addictive, then yes.

Chocolate, ice cream, and sex are also addictive.

It's not heroin.
Could not have said it better myself. You can get addicted to anything if you build a routine around it. When it's said pot itself isn't addictive that's true because the weed doesn't form any type of dependence for your body. However the feeling and the routine actions of smoking are very addictive. Especially being the creatures of habit humans are.

depends on your definition of addictive. it is not physically addictive as far as research has proved. on the other hand people may say it is addicting because when you have to go without, things would be better high.. after the first week or so of not getting high it really doesn't matter anymore. so in my opinion mj is NOT addictive.
On the other hand, i quit smoking cigs a few months back and still crave them, dream about them etc.. now that is fuckin addiction even though the nicotine has been out of my system for at least a few months.

However the feeling and the routine actions of smoking are very addictive. Especially being the creatures of habit humans are.
BRAVO!!!

I quit smoking cigs 2 months ago myself.I have stopped smoking mj several times over my 30 years of mj smoking(3 years one time)Cigs are addicting way more so than mj ever could be.I think it is mostly weak willed people, and they its all the pots fault.Just a scape goat.IMO

i agree, its cuz people try to blame their own failings on mj that caused it to be illegal. i think heroin/meth/coke addicts have no one to blame but themselves btw, i hate it when people whine its all someone/something elses fault they fuck up! im an adult and adults should take responsibily for their mistakes! i fucked my own life up somewhat when i was younger and all i ever heard was people trying to blame their problems on something/someone else, i was the only one with the guts to admit i made some mistakes (nothing real bad btw, i had to attend a group therapy for awhile is all)

No, it doesn't.There have been no studies that have proved any such damage. It simply isn't physically addictive. You are mentally dependent on it, and it's causing you anxiety if you don't have it.Anxiety WILL cause you to manifest false symptoms.
Since you spoke of being in debt for "pounds", I can only assume you are from the UK.It is a known fact that a significant amount of UK weed is laced with toxic substances, such as plastic, glass, and other things they use to make it weigh more heavily. Is there a chance that you're not just smoking weed when you buy an ounce? It's probable.
Could you have a degenerative disease? Possibly.I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just saying you should examine all factors in your life before you blame the weed.Have you also been doing repetetive actions for this 13 years, like at work?Do you have a family history of diabetes?
That you actually feel pain suggests to me these nerves aren't dead.Because a truly dead nerve is...well, dead.:peace:

Over the years I have put down the pipe many of times. I do believe it is mentally addictive, however, I don't think it is physically addictive. I think it all depends on the person who is quitting. For me, I have never had a problem with putting it down...That being said, my son went to rehab for 6 months to get off of it...He was just one that could not balance responsibility and smoking...Again, it is all in the individual.:peace:

No, it's not addictive. It's habit forming, and any habit is hard to break after doing it for awhile. But i've never woken up in the morning with the shakes because I need a joint.

i quit smoking on 420 im around pot constantly every day i watch about 5 blunts burned a day and bunch of bowls and bong packs. i havent even hit anything even when i was drunk at a party. Sure theres times where i really wanna smoke but not to the point where i cant control it. I miss the high effect but not enough where it feels like im addicted and need the substance. I quit just to quit too not because of probation or anyhthing like that.
