Improvements for next time..

Hey everybody.. I'm in the last stages of my first grow, and am ready to upgrade after learning so much.. I was thinking of going hydro for my next grow, and I've attatched my idea to see what everyone thinks.. Criticism, advice, or w/e is encouraged so I can get a good set-up for my next batch. Also feel free to ask questions if something is unclear

Looks pretty good to me... Probably will need some tweaking along the way,but looks like a good start!

Looks like a nice system. Maximum flow of water. The only thing I would suggest is using a metal halide or hps light instead of cfls.

Only thing I'd consider changing is not running the water out of the res... up... and over.

Thanks everybody Can you successfully use hps in veg? I know it has a red-ish spectrum for flowering. Hey Florida Girl, how would you set it up differently?

Very nice diagram!! I dont know too much but if your roots end up in the soup wont that cause root problems? Could you separate the rez from the plants and just run the drip system every couple of hours draining back into the rez of course? And also i would invest in a good lamp. HPS will work for all stages or you could get a digital and 2 bulbs HPS and MH.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Sparkafire! I don't know if that will cause root problems or not, I'll have to look into it a little more. I figured because the air stone is in the res tank, that the plants should be able to grow into the res tank water without a problem. I'd love to get one of those mh/hps combos, mh for veg and hps for flowering, but aren't they wicked pricey? Plus I want to keep the electric bill down, so I figured the flouros combo would be pretty effective. I mean the plant that I have under CFL's now is flowering pretty well so I figure why not

I always look on Craigslist for stuff. Put in Hydroponics in the search also check out the farm and garden area sometimes it wont come up under hydro. as people are always getting rid of there stuff.

I've been thinking about e-bay too, but since I already have a shit ton of flourescent tubes and CFL's, I'm just going to go with those with an exceptionally effective set up, which I have to figure out haha.
