hey guys i have different cfl lights for vegging i have the bright white ones and the ones that give off a blue color light, i was wondering which of these two cfl lights are better to use, the bright white ones or the blue ones thanks guys , and also how can i tell when i order the lights online if there gonna be bright white or blue because the site i get them off of only gives the temp like 5100k and such , one more thing i have a real big cfl its 85 watts and color temp is 5000k and was like 25 bucks do you think i should put that directly over the plant or just the regular low wattage cfl's, thanks guys

you'd want to use the more blue spectrum lights for veg. stage. then switch to a red spectrum to flower. the cfl's i use for veg. are "daylight" color and 6500k...i would put as many cfl's on that plant as possible. use your best bulb over the top, and use secondary lighting on sides of plant. hope that helps you out a bit...

but it seems that the 85 watt cfl light i have which is like a foot long and huge gives off just about the same light as a regular 42 watt cfl , so would you put the 85 watt cfl over the plant , thanks man yeah it did help me buddy i appreciate it peace out dude

IMO better to use a bunch of smaller 26W bulbs. They have 1700 lumens a piece and are about $7 a pair at Wal-Mart. Having 3 of those (78W) will probably put out more lumens than your 85W monster.

you want your brightest, highest lumen light over the top of the plant, and as close to the plant as possible. whichever of your lights have the most amount of lumens is the one i would have on the top. my 42 watt cfl for veg. gives off 2800 lumens. 1 on top, two on the sides, and she'll flourish. if you'd like the info on my cfl's, let me know. i've had very good success with them....
