I'm Verbal and this is my Denver grow

I have been posting the past couple days and I figure I should show I have some cred and not just talking out my ass. So this is mostly about my grow this year. I will probably leave stuff out and forget details so Ill probably have to post P.S. posts afterwards. I know me and this is gonna happen. Things will probably be misspelled as well. Just a heads up. Oh, and I am moderately lazy.

A little about this years grow.... I started later than I normally would do to the weather this summer. Normally I would start my seeds indoors around March under 5 T% lights. Nothing flashy. I have HPS and MH lights but I don't use them. This summer I didn't start my plants from seed and decided to go with clones since Denver has an abundance of dispensaries in my area, and since I am a medical card holder and have an extended plant count endorsement (24 plants total.12 in flower 12 in Veg) I went the clone rout. Also, this is the first year I have grown from clones. I have always used regular seeds.

I have been growing outdoor for 5 years now. Year 1, 2, and 3 grew Maui Wowi seeds my dad got from a friend that has been growing the same exact genetics since the 70s. Last year I grew from bag seed I got from a friend. I'm pretty sure it was blue dream. I stated with 3 seedlings, 2 ended up being female and 1 male.

This year I am growing 5 plants, from clone like I said (way below my legal limit). Strains are as follows...

Durban Poison (planted June 1)
AK47 (planted June 1)
OG Kush (planted May 14)
Cookies (planted May 14)
Grape Ape (planted June 14)

Nutrients used......

Age Old Grow
Age Old Root (Myco)
Vermi T
Molasses

25 gallon pots. I grew 2 plants in each. This is the first time doing that but I wanted to see what would happen and if it would have any effect on the plants sizes. I plant directly into the big pots. Always have. No transplanting. Main reason is I am lazy. Second is shock. I KNOW THE POTS ARE TOO BIG FOR LITTLE PLANTS AND DRAINAGE AND WET SOIL AND ROOTS AND BLAH BLAH BLAH. It has never been a problem. They still grow as fast as they would in smaller pots. Yes I have tried both methods. Didn't notice a difference.

In the first 3 years of growing I used Miracle Grow potting soil. Yes, the one with time released nutrients or whatever. I was very happy with it, I know it gets a bad wrap but I didn't care and guess what nobody that smoked the finished product cared either. No harsh smoke. No burning sensation in chest or lungs. Last year I switched though and used a product the shit heads at the grow shop told me was awesome called Vermifire. It was okay I guess. Looked good. Smelled good. Did the job I guess. My plants last year finished around 5 feet while the ones in the two years previous were around 7 feet. Could have been the genetics though. Don't know don't care not that important to me.

Side note: I hate most grow/hydro shop workers. They are mostly rude and get annoyed when you ask questions. I dread going. Luckily I found one close by a few weeks ago and the people are chill. Give me 25% on anything I want forever and also gave me free Tea last time I went. Awesome.

Okay, so without further a due here are some picture of this years grow. This first set of pictures were taken June 23 2014. Pics 1,2, and 5 are AK47(1) and Durban(2) pics 3 and 4 are OG (taller/right) and Cookies. Pic 5 is AK(Left) and Durban(Right) Pic 6 is Grape Ape .....

Grape Ape didn't load above so I will post it here along with more recent pics taken July 7 2014.

IMG478 is the Grape Ape taken June 23 2014........IMG514 was taken July 7

The first pic is a close up of the Cookies. Funny but all the leaves only have 3 blades. I guess its just a different pheno and I'm not worried about it at all. Seen it in other plants before. At this point I have been Pinching these plants regularly for lateral growth. As you will see in the most recent pics I will post the development is astounding. IMG513 is the AK and DP. As you can see there has been little growth so I LSTed them and they started growing. This is something new I learned on my own. Every year is trial and error for me. Mostly experimenting with different methods. I will try almost anything. THE REASON I GROW IS FOR FUN. Its a hobby. This allows me to take it less serious and relax when making crucial decisions as well as learn methods without worrying too much about losing a crop.

I have been watering with 5mg Age Old Grow and molasses about every 4 or 5 days if needed. This summer has been really wet. Non PHed water by the way. Hose water, dudes. However, I did test the hose water and its at about 5.5 consistently.

The Grape Ape is growing slow but is a healthy clone. The AK and DP grew slow too. Actually so did the Cookies and OG. The reason for this is because I didn't harden off the clones in the sun. I just put them outside. I have never had to do this with seedlings so it was new to me and noted for the future. Remember this was the first year I grew from clone.

Now the most recent pictures. These pictures were taken today. It DUMPED rain all afternoon. My backyard looked like a river. So my plants may not look as good as they would when the sun is out. I will post more when the sun is out.

IMG554, 555 are the Grape Ape and it is already budding. I know its an early finisher though. Probably wont grow it again unless I start it in January indoors.

IMG 559 is the AK47. IMG 558 is the Durban. I have a thory regarding those 2 plants which I will address in the future in another threat. IMG575 is both of them together.

561 is the OG(Left) and Cookies(Right) together. 563 is the Cookies close up.564 is the OG. 566 is the top of the OG.

Looking good verbal, I Think I might have said it to you before, but bob ross is the shit. The way he paints those landscapes and talks in a calm soothing voice. RIP.. All I can say is anytime ive grown 2 plants in one pot I regretted it. Usually I end up cutting the weaker one down because a transplant is impossible...I also grow as a productive hobby. Don't take it too seriously but it saves me $, I gotta do some hauling so its good exercise too.

From the top. The OG is 48 inches. The Cookies are 36 inches as of today. This is small for me and this time of the year. I got a late start this year almost 2 months later than usual.

To tell you the truth I grew 2 in a pot to hopefully keep the size down. Crazy right? Why would I want to limit myself? Well usually the plants get well over 7 feet tall with big juicy colas. There is an alley behind my house and there are questionable people coming and going and when you have big plants standing out it tends to make you nervous. I'm not worried about cops as much as I worry about rippers.

However I probably won't double plant again in the future unless they are of the same strain. It makes it hard to provide each plant their own specific diet. For instance my cookie plant has started flowering and OG has not. I want to give the cookies early flowering nutes but can't without also feeding the OG even though she is not in flower.

I would only double plant clones from the same mother. Different phenos will require different needs sometimes
Exactly. I didn't really give it too much thought. I was more concerned with space requirements and seeing if it would keep the plants from growing too tall. Too early to determine. My backyard isn't completely fenced and if someone knew what they were looking for they would notice my shit. Last year, my 90 year old neighbor who is clueless came outside and told me she thought there was a skunk living somewhere around our house or her house for the past few weeks. I have never seen a skunk anywhere even remotely close to where I live in the 5 years I have lived here.

I tried the small pot thing for my light dep plants. It caused some stress to the plants and they still grew to like 4 1/2 feet lol. I usually top seedlings but didnt have veg time for them to recover. When I notice plants getting to tall for my liking I like to supercrop and tie them down. Some plants dont give any fucks about pot size. They will just grow and grow......and grow lol.

I guess we will see what happens. It was an experiment. You can't learn new things if you always do the same. But so far I'm not mad.

Measured my plants on July 31st. Today is Aug 4th and the OG plant which is the largest had grown 3 inches. The GSC, Durban, and AK have grown 4 inches. That's 4 days worth of growth.

Imo it doesn't matter if it's the same strain! Double planting forces the plants to fight for nutes and water.. When you have two plants in one pot one is usually overfed and one is underfed... plants will not share!!

It's a battle of the strains! We shall see who has the stronger smoke. In this pot fighting out of the right side is the OG Kush hailing from California with millions of wins by knock out very few losses and as well as minimal draws. On the left are Cookies also hailing from California with many knock outs two losses and few draws. This is going to be the rumble in the roots!

Sunnys right.
And anytime I see an unpopped plant I want to take the scissors to it!. hurry and lollipop it , you wil be so happy you did.
When I cut off the lower growth I feel like I'm losing weight. Even though I know it's not a lot it still makes me nervous. I'm like damn what if this one ends up budding good. What if my plants go into shock and I lose growth? It's like getting a new hair style that might look like shit except it doesn't grow back. I saw a video on youtube by Cervantes that said not to lolly pop your plants. Anyways, those little popcorn buds I get I roll into joints and give to my wife so she stays out of the nug stash for awhile. After harvest she is like a kid after trick or treating...look at all this candy I'm gonna eat it all tonight!

The spores are ok, just pluck em. Spores are always present in soil, they grow under the perfect conditions. no biggie really
