It will be interesting to see how it plays out and if there are any charges brought against the store owner. While there is a Stand Your Ground law at the same time you can't shoot a fleeing felon and it looked like the kid was trying to flee so stabbing him in the act of fleeing is likely not lawful. The thing is that people are sick of this crap and if any charges are brought against the shop owner I doubt a jury would convict him. He should be more concerned about a potential civil case that could have serious financial implications. Then again I doubt a jury is going to side with a brazen criminal and would probably side with the shop owner believing the punk got what he deserved.

If you watch it a few times in a row i think you'll notice he did not have time to flee.Shop owner was on top of him like flies on shit.I see a robber trying to fight back........fight or flight??mmmm

As twisted as it sounds getting stabbed might end up saving the kids life or keep him out of prison for most of his life. That's a real life scared straight moment. Hopefully the kid will get his act together when he gets out of juvenile detention and try and do something with his life. Brazenly jumping over counters to rob is pretty bold. Who knows what type of crimes that kid might escalate to. The next time he might have entered with a gun
I agree with most of what you said here.. im not siding with the robbers by any means. Im just not seeing where the store owner/ employee felt like his life was in jeapardy enough to do this..

The fact that he appears to actually be stopping the attacker from fleeing while stabbing is where this will come down to. Imo reasonable threat is reasonable threat. When your holding someone around the neck to stop their retreat while continuing the assault/ defense, it may change things a bit

Im in my 40's i get what youre saying.. its just the way i came up i guess.. if someone came at me with a weapon i wouldnt hesitate.. if you came at me with out a weapon i would try and stomp a fucker out. (not kill, just leave them busted up or with noticable scares)

People act very differently in a state of fear/panic

Same here, pushin the 50 mark myself. The reality of the situation though is that kid could have easily pulled a knife of his own.Or worse a firearm. This is how we train our "PEACE OFFICERS",because it can happen and does happen.

And also what Nutty Skunk said. The shop owner touches on this in the second vid i posted of the news clip.

Fuckin humans,we really are pretty fucked up in the grand scheme of things.
