I understand shop owners frustration but honestly I don’t think that’s going good for owner. First he used deadly force to defend a product not himself, against unarmed robber( maybe)That may be legit, idk. Second he was stabbing even after the guy was trying to run. Idk man im torn on this one

That was abit excesive.. they were unarmed..

I think dude was just wanting and waiting to kill someone..

Yes from what we see in the vid they seem to be unarmed......does that mean they were?Is there still the chance that one of them could have a firearm?Fucked up situation all around.Because of the location i feel like bam mentioned,things aren't going to turn out well for the owner.

He had no way of knowing if they were armed or not. He didn't know what was in their pockets. Once that punk jumped the counter it was game on. I wouldn't take a chance with the freaks out there these days.

It's a hard call and one that needs to be made in a split second. I don't know if I would have stabbed the guy and if I did I probably would have delivered less stabs. Either way that guy was going to the ground and then jail.

The store owner will not face any charges due to Nevada's "Stand Your Ground" law and the Castle Doctrine.

Yes, NRS 200.120 does not require anyone to retreat before using deadly force (or acting in self-defense), if:
The person not the original aggressor, has a right to be present at the location where deadly force is used, and is not actively engaged in conduct in furtherance of criminal activity at the time deadly force is used. No duty to retreat has been Nevada law since the 1870s.

To me that sound like being half pregnant

As twisted as it sounds getting stabbed might end up saving the kids life or keep him out of prison for most of his life. That's a real life scared straight moment. Hopefully the kid will get his act together when he gets out of juvenile detention and try and do something with his life. Brazenly jumping over counters to rob is pretty bold. Who knows what type of crimes that kid might escalate to. The next time he might have entered with a gun in hand.

It might have been excessive but I'm siding with the shop owner.

I understand his attempt to defend but that last stab in the spine was not defendable
He was planning to finish him
It was almost like he recognized them which makes it worse

It will be interesting to see how it plays out and if there are any charges brought against the store owner. While there is a Stand Your Ground law at the same time you can't shoot a fleeing felon and it looked like the kid was trying to flee so stabbing him in the act of fleeing is likely not lawful. The thing is that people are sick of this crap and if any charges are brought against the shop owner I doubt a jury would convict him. He should be more concerned about a potential civil case that could have serious financial implications. Then again I doubt a jury is going to side with a brazen criminal and would probably side with the shop owner believing the punk got what he deserved.
