I'm considering this AC for my grow tent

I have a SUN HUT, the largest one, which is something like 8x4x7.

I'm considering purchasing this AC:

WINDCHASER - PRODUCTS - AIR CONDITIONERS

Couple of reasons why it seems attractive.

It can easily be placed outside of the grow tent.

The duct output makes it easy to hook up to a 4" flange on the grow tent.

It's not crazy expensive.

Any thoughts? Any reason this would not be a good idea?

thanks

hmm this does look good, especially for the large tent, it can get mighty hot and smelly in there. you'd want to hear the running volume, because you wouldnt want something that will drill your ears in the early hours of the morning :P

It cost $360. It's only 40db and claims it's good enough for a library...

7000 btu. I don't know if that's enough...

what lights? there is the determining factor how much heat are you making
I have 5000 btu cooling a 1000w set up and it keeps it perfect

I'm going to be using two 600w HPS in this tent. I turned on the lights for the first time yesterday and it rose to above 100 degrees F within about 30 minutes.

That's my only concern is that this thing won't be powerful enough to cool properly, which would then make it a waste of money...

Is there any formula to determine BTU's vs space vs lights?

Thanks

Formula Sun = aprox.10,000 lumens per sq. ft.
area= length * width * height
ex. a 24" * 48" * 70" cabinet only needs 48,000 lumens to be equal to the sun
48 sq' * 10000 per sq. = 48000 lumens
or 1 -400 w hortilux with added benifits

so my point is figure out how much you have to spend then fiqure how much you can grow its all proportional I do 12 clones every 10 weeks under 1000w w/a hyro -drip in cocco and constant temps w/Fox Farm complete and yield 80-90g per plant every 10

Dude that is the dopest little thing ive ever seen! Well at the moment it is, but I would pick one up immediately if there was no reason it would hurt ur plants..That little unit is SICK!

Btw, I now have two of these. They work great. I discovered if you insulate the duct, it will drop about another 5 degrees.
