Illuma lights and hortilux. Will this be okay?

Hello looooong time reader just about to start planning my indoor setup for next september and and slowly gathering supplies. I was looking to buy this light.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I realize it is probably using a pretty cheap bulb and ballast. They usually sell for around 120. I plan on using on upgrading to a hortilux bulb. Does anyone see any problems or any other recommendations? Thanks

look in the indoor section someone did a post about bulbs compairing side by side same strain only differance was a 2 year old hortilux bulb and a brand new cheap bulb....the pics are astonishing a 2 year old hortilux > brand new cheap bulb by a bigggg differance .....enough to convince me to go get one asap

If you want to see a side by side: Digilux vs. Hortilux. Type it in youtube. I was blown away.
If you dont want to watch it its Matt the grow guy using a luxmeter and a PAR meter side by side vs a hortilux and digilux crazy outperforms it on the tests. The shocking part was how much it beat it by like 25% on both tests. I would like to see a digilux vs hortilux side by side grow

mhmm i saw this too, thats what made me want to get the hortiulux. I was more wondering about the effects of a cheap ballast?

Buyer beware on those illumalights ballasts. I read a bad review on them where one unlucky customer got two bad ballasts in a row and safe to say he was disappointed and angry. He also mentioned the first ballast had a screw or some metal shavings rattling around inside the housing. I'd spend a little more on a reputable company..

it just depends where yu live really, if yur in the states yu should go htgsupply.com, because if ur order n shippin something over the bboarder like a growing kit lol, the border will trash it forsure or screw around wit it.
