I'd love to say it'll be one more week since I hit week 8 today but I think I'm stuck at 2, things are progressing slower than I thought they would at the end for this strain.

That plant has minimum 2 weeks, but more likely 3-4 before it will be properly finished. It still has tons of fresh growth on it, it is trying to grow more bud for you, why would you want to cut it anytime soon.

I don't care what the breeder claims, plants won't finish until they are done. The breeder has a different garden then you and different plants then you. You can only judge based off your garden and plants.

Harvesting early is the NUMBER 1 new grower mistake, and even many long term growers still do it. Either because they don't know better, or don't care.

Other then a few rare cases, most plants go through a pretty standard maturation process. FIRST they stop growing much and the stigma(pistils) will turn redish, and begin to receed. Over the next 14-21 days after the stigma are AT LEAST 90% red you will notice very little outward growth, but the plants are swelling the buds internally. The bracts(calyxs) will each swell up and get fatter. During this period the plant puts on a significant amount of weight, and usually some buds will bend over from weight in just a matter of a couple days.

FINALLY AFTER the bracts have swollen, and nearly all the stigma are receeded nicely into the buds you can check the trichomes on the buds.

Don't make the mistake of cutting early .

It is REALLY EASY to harvest early, because patients is tough. It is VERY HARD to over ripen your plants. They are not going to instantly just go bad, or get too mature. It takes multiple WEEKS of intentionally letting a plant get over done to go to far.

I've NEVER seen someone accidentally over ripen plants. However I watch new growers harvest too early almost daily on this site and others. Then they want to know why their buds taste like grass or don't really get them high, or the yield sucked. All 3 of those things can come from early harvesting.
