IKEA now sells Hydrophonic Systems!

So i am at Ikea and i saw these Hydrophonic systems for growing herbs and edible plants.

These systems dont have any kind of Air Pumps. I thought you needed air pumps for Hydrophonics to work.

Can i use these to Grow herbs that comtain THc? I mean Marijuana ofc?

From my understanding these won't grow you anything worth the effort. They don't need air if they are flood and drain. In a dwc tub you would need air though.

The reason these suck is because of their lighting. It isn't enough on its own. It's too weak and too far away. It could be used for vegging seedlings or small plants but they will probably stretch like crazy and fall over.

So if you did buy one, you would need to modify it with a better light. Which means the existing hardware for the light probably be of no use, and you wold at that point just be buying a small hydroponics setup.

I suppose if you find one with a big enough light you could grow something. But you'll still need a dark place to keep it in unless you do autos.

So 24 hours later..did you make it out of IKEA yet?

Re the wee garden- They're great for things like parsley and basil , but that's about it! Did you check what kind of bulb was in it?

What's stopping you giving that thing a bash at 12/12 from seed and some major bondage?! I would sub that thread!

I know the lights are too weak. If i replace the lights and add a Fishtank pump. Can i use the water resecoirs and have like 1 plant in twach box?
