Ignoring a thread

Hello,

I made the mistake of posting to a real shit-fest of a thread...and
now whenever someone posts another bucket of flaming crud this
thread is back on top of my suscriptions.php page.

I would like to "ignore" this thread so that it will never appear in
my view of the forum in which it resides.

Thank you,

JD

P.S. I did search for this in this forum.

I know this isn't the answer you really need, but such a feature does sound like it should be implemented. I'm here to say "Fuck em bro". Don't let anyone on here effect you enjoying yourself on this site.

I appreciate the good word.

Some threads just take on a negative aspect that leaves most every
post a flame-job that is a waste of time to read.

I am here to learn how to grow the best smoke possible.

Thanks again for the time.

That is cool and will have to do for now. Thank you!

The thing is that the feature that I am describing does exist for other
sites. So I might just consider this matter closed with a description
of how it works at one, Shroomery.org

If RIU had this feature, it would work like this:

You are viewing the top-level of a specific Forum, say Indoor Soil, and
you see the list of threads in that forum, with the thread icons on the
left indicating which threads are hot and which have unread posts. thread_hot_new-16.png

1. if you click on the thread icon, and there are unread posts in the
thread, then the thread is changed to indicate that all posts are read.
(and the icon you clicked on changes to the "no unread" icon).

2. if you click on the thread icon when there are no unread posts, then
a dialog pops up, asking you to confirm that you want to ignore this thread.

Then the thread will not even appear in the threads list of the forum. Ever.

It is just gone. Never to trouble to mind again.

Just a thought. It is a very cool feature, and the thread icons have no
hyperlink associated with them yet either.

Take care,

JD
