If you have used dyna-gro NEEM oil GTFIH please

Hi, I recently got some dyna-gro neem oil. First of all after you shake it there are chunks floating in it. The rep at dyna-gro said to dissolve measured amount in hot water first. This worked fine. Now the problem is, not matter what I do I cant get the neem oil to mix or emulsify into the water that well. I have tried pro-tect (they recommend it) and I have tried dish soap. Don't get me wrong here, it will disperse into the water somewhat but no where near as well as the other brand I have always used (green lite). Once the water cools off the chunks kind of come back and float up. SO, please tell me what you have done to get this brand to emulsify into the water. If this is normal with 100 percent neem oil than let me know also, as im used to the 70 percent neem with the added 30 percent being some kind of emulsifier. Thanks you!:peace:

i use equal parts neem to pro tek, i think its 1tbsp each, off hand not looking at notes. Ii also use a couple drops of dawn dish soap, all in a quart spray bottle, that is filled with warm water. shake like hell and it will emulisfy, there will be a foam at the top, thats ok. Once you store it and it clumps back together, run the bottle under hot water intill water warms back up, shake like hell and spray. i use it once a week on my plants, this exact recipe. The best way to use the fresh neem out of the store bought container is to run that bottle under hot water or set it in a bowl of hot water, let it liquefy before you measure out and mix, you might be getting to much fat and not enough oil and its not mixing or emulsifying just right, heat the whole thing up and mix into warm water.

Unfortunately thats the way 100% neem oil behaves (not just dynagro).

Lower percentage neem oil has been diluted and/or is the leftover oil after extraction. Oil leftover after the extraction is not as effective since much of the active ingredients has been removed.

To keep it dissolved in a water based spray Keep it warm 70+ and use warm water. Add some spreader or dish soap. I avoid rotek on young or sensitive plants since its so strongly alkaline, but that mix should be great for Powdery Mildew.

cool thanks for the advice burnride and purplebuz. I just remembered to ask, should the neem be at a certain ph after being mixed? because like you said purple, pro-tect raises the ph ALOT, so I was kinda worried about using that much of it. Could I perhaps use some ph down? Thanks
