That greenhouse that converted to Lumigrow LED supplemental lighting... really wouldn't want to hear that right now ;D

I prefer to buy from local regions and I like top quality regardless of price. So if I were you, I'd go with either hans or plantphotonics, with Vipar coming in 3rd. There's quite a few happy vipar customers out there. Area51 makes good lights (I have one and love it), but it seems like taxes and import fees will be costly so that would be ruled out for me. Under no circumstance would I buy from hydrogrowled. Hope this helps.

That's good choice to buy from local regions . Cheap led chinese lights , although at the beginning , maybe can save some money , but in the long term , bad experience .Got the Chinese cheap ones , look good , but after several monthes or half one year or one year around , those led lights failed , then ship it back to China to repair , then ship back to USA . The point is that the led lights failed again after repair for some time . That's terrible experience .

The new plant photonic panels are the best around in Europe hands down, but pricing may not overcome efficiency/yield differences from Hans. most in here will never keep their panels over 5+ years......so think about that:-)
Yeah I just thought about that, really have to be careful. So far I've decided to go local and give priority to well made gear anyway, so it will probably be a mix of Hans and Plant Photonics units. I'll probably start with a PP 90W + a Hans panel and from then I'll decide how much of each I'll get :) 2+2 or 1+4. So i can set up a big 4x4 room and another one smaller or even 3 or 4 different ones (veg, flo, clones,... ) to keep it rolling.

Not that much if you make the count over 3, or even better, 5 years. It's around 1050€/1100€ for both options. 2 PP90 +2HP or 4 HP +1 PP90. The big advantage I see is that the setup will be modular, I can arrange them as I want and in the long run, it will cost less than 5 HID+reflectors+... if Im going to split the production over 5 different boxes. Only 1 plant under a panel though, but with some time and patience, Im sure I can get great results. And the electricity bill wont raise much because of a maximum 314 watts consumption.

okay.. nice.. if you gonna use 1 plant for 1 light, they will get plenty of light and you can have good results... about the electricity bill.. you wil be very happy.. :) i used 600W hps before, in one closet.. now im using a closet and a 100x120x200cm tent, with one 200W led, think it draws between 185-200W and and one 350W, think its around 330W, and my bill is a bit cheaper now... just gotta love led. :)

^^Yeah dub, Elly is right. Unless you want to experiment with specific spectrum, invest in something good. Plus you can always sell good panels easily if it doesn't work out. Happy Growing.

DS200, $545...yeah, I'd go with the Area51 lights over those.

And yes, I'm still building my own, just haven't had time since I have had company over for the last week.

thinking of getting a custom apollo 10 from cidly for my 20x36x60 grow tent. any comments on a spectrum of 2 440-450nm reddish blue, 1 12000k-18000k Cool White, 3 640-660nm Dark Red, 9 620-630nm Red

After a lot of research on LEDs I decided for the cheaper Chinese leds that seemed to have the same quality diodes and functions as other branded leds sold in the US and UK
So far I am happy with the results, I bought 4 lights 2 Mars Grows rated at 480w of actual usage power and 2 Matrix 300 rated at 300w of actual usage power. (full spectrum)
So far I am happy with the results, my first time with LEDs also using SCROG and DWC, tomorrow will be 3 weeks of flower after veggin for 3 weeks some clones that were in need of some TLC.. The pics here are a few days old, and from what I see they are on schedule.CIMG2009.jpgCIMG2007.jpgCIMG2013.jpg
got some amnesia haze, la confidential and king kong 5 on a m2 on one side...
hoping to get a decent yield, all new ground for me here, but like I said, happy with the lights so far..

I see your boom-box there, what music are you playing for your girls? :P

Just wanted to add my bit of experience with LED's. I've been growing a mother plant (and keeping clones) with a 90 watt Sunshine Systems UFO.
So far everyone seems happy and healthy.

if your lights with quality problem in the future , ship them to China , one month to wait it back . Maybe worse .
