Great thank you. Next question (!); each led requires a driver/power source (Im guessing its the same thing?) How does one go about deciding what driver will be best for any given LED? Im assuming you look at the spec of each and can then figure out if the driver will be too much or not enough - thats what im not sure about. It states a currents of 200/350/500mA so I should be looking for a driver to deliver whatever current I want to work with, in this case around the 350mA mark?

the best available driver in my opinion is the meanwell npf 90 42 powering either vero29 or cxa/cxb 3070! just my opinion! I m sure others will have theres?

As opposed to other light sources that can be dimmed by a rheostat (fancy name for resistor/piece that allows for variable resistance), LED can be dimmed by current (measured in Amps). The specs on the LED will tell you what currents and voltages the led will light up. obviously more current = more light. So if it says 200mA/350mA/500mA you can get yourself a constant current power supply (yeah constant current means the LED won't flicker/dim itself improving its life cycle) that is set for those currents. As a rule of thumb more current means less efficiency (lm/watt). I ope whatever I said makes sense lol

cxb 3070 3000k 80 or vero29 4k driven by meanwell npf90 42 or just buy optic or a51 cob. If you are thinking about building the cob unit? I am sure u can solder? its not rocket science! practice on something else little before you try on $80 cree chip?

I know how you feel! I wish there was a guide showing the popular drivers and the COB's they can run. The soldering is easy, I just don't understand pairing the right drivers with the COBs. We need some retrofit kits out there with everything paired up but you have to build it.

That driver's output current is 900ma and the strip's working current is 720ma. You should try to stay at or below the strips recommended working current.
For something like that i would just use a normal dc power supply. You may have an old phone charger or something kicking around your house that would power that led fine.

I plan on a diy: 25 vero13 3000k (only for blooming)drived at 550, 650mA in 1sq meter (3, 1/3x3, 1/3x4, 1/2 feet).Cooled by 80mm ventirads (cpu cooler, ventilator+radiator=ventirad)
My questions are: is 3000k's ok? Which CRI should I take? What kind of driver (hlg-185-700b?)? Is 55mm ventirad enough or should I take 80mm or more and in passive cooling what is the size of the heat sink for a single 20w cob? Is there a specific size for the screw?

So, umm.

Looking for a driver for 4x vero 18's, can't find anything less than $20 for a single cob driver or 80$ for a series driver...am I looking wrong or are these good prices?

Could someone link me to a driver/drivers that can run 4 vero 18s @ .7A (30v)(20watts) or .7A (120v+)(80watts+).. Also could you link me to an adjustable driver for .35A-1.05A (120v+)(120watts+)

TL: DR- Looking for lots of links

Also any advice on heatsink size would be nice, ATM I'm just gonna default to 4x artic cpu coolers.

I read many things about cob and i change my mind. I will go with 16 vero18 for blooming only, so is 3000k is the best or another white with far red led? What is the best driver for the vero18 to drive them between 500mA to 1050mA, is it cheaper(possible?) to have one driver or multiple small one and which one have the highest efficiency (it's not gonna be the cheapest).Thanks and have a nice grow

I'm very interested in LED since I don't have a lot of space and know that temp can be an issue with a small tent. I'm interested in quality of buds over quantity, but quantity wouldn't be bad either :P. I will most likely do autoflowers,

Would you please help direct me towards the BEST possible lighting for my small space. I will probably only grow 1-2 plants at a time. I would like to keep it under $500 if at all possible. Thanks in advance:leaf:(:

360watt opticlighting. Vero29 3k or 4k. Its a little more than 500 but well worth it
