Counting down the daze to Christmas: Pot advent calendar on sale in Canada

Adult advent calendars, for example in craft beer or wine bottles, are popular at Christmas. Now, a Vancouver-based medical pot business is jumping on that trend and selling cannabis calendars for the holidays.
Coast to Coast Medicinals is taking orders for its twist on the classic Christmas advent calendar, but at between $200 and $230, the price may be a little high for some users.
But founder of the online shop, Lorilee Fedler, says there’s a gram of marijuana for each day, plus bonus goodies, and three grams for Christmas Day. A gram of pot costs between $10 and $13 at most dispensaries.
The online delivery company, which is not one of the 73 licensed producers of medical marijuana in Canada, says the calendars are custom-made when ordered and will start to be shipped out Nov. 21.
Fedler says they buy all their cannabis from licensed producers in Canada, and it is all organic.

She says demand for the calendar is going “crazy,” with more than 50 orders in two days. She says she got the idea when she was at a liquor store and saw a craft beer advent calendar.
“I thought this is a neat idea, we should do this with the flowers,” she said.
The calendars are available in three styles: Dried cannabis only, edibles only, and a mix of dried cannabis and edibles.
