Mistake #1 - growing 4 plants of 2 strains not knowing what the heights would be

Mistake #2 - Not having enough grow height to be experimenting

Mistake #3 - This was a major error - instead of topping I decided to just see how tall they would be on their own

Mistake #4 - I wait till today, midway through the third week of flowering, to decide they aren't going to stop growing and I can only raise the lights (2 4 tube flouro fixtures) another few inches

Mistake #5 - Thinking about the above instead of what I'm doing, I drop a light into the plants

So the plants basically did a bend don't break thing. Only one small shoot broke. But it looks like a hurricane went through there, everything all hangy down and out of place. But it should come back? Tell me I'm right, please.

Now my problem is how to light for the remainder. I was able to raise the overhead lights some more but not to position them exactly. Right now they are higher than they should be but before long (assuming they come back ok) the plants might grow up into them again. I have cfl sidelights I'm making the best of but might have a real problem getting light on the top colas of the two tall plants.

Sooo, should I try to bend the tops of the tall plants over and tie them to keep them under the lights? Or something else? Thanks

The plants should come back from having stuff dropped on them, if the branches/stem didn't actually break. I once was using a large piece of painting canvas for "white" on one side of a grow, and something knocked it down during the night (knowing my luck, it was probably me shutting the door that caused it to fall), so that it was laying on top of /all/ the plants in that room. They looked squished as hell the next day, but none were actually broken, and everything was looking normal within a day or so.

weed plants are strong, ive had plants that have been through a lot of bullshit, theyll def recover.
ive had a plant yanked out of its pot and thrown in a garbage bag where it remained in the bag for like 10 mins, then when i replantted it, it looked like the most fucked up thing on earth. but a few days later it returned backed to normal.
as for your lighting situation i really dunno, try to find a bigger growing space?

i did the same exact thing with my lamps this grow.. same thing.. was trying to raise my t5 and was having a problem with the chain, and when i did finally get it, it came crashing down on the one side of my garden.. i only managed to break off a small branch as well.. the rest of the plant looked all crazy, but it came right back in a day or two.. you have to imagine all of the craziness that a plant has to endure in the wilderness and know that they still survive.. weed is called weed for a good reason..it is a very hardy plant. and it takes a good amount of abuse...
i am not too sure about the height issues either.. you could have done some form of lst to start with... you ever think about scrog? i;m not too sure if it is too late to start training the plant now, but i would look into it

thanks for that definitive answer sunnydaze.. i wasn't positive if lst could be started at any time or if it had to be started from seedling.. good to know... thanks for the info..

I've never done lst and am curious about this situation also. Would woof just bend them as far as necessary to clear the lights and tie them there? Would there be anymore growth reaching for the lights? Would there be horizontal growth? I know lst is to be done in veg but if you have to do it in flower, I'm just wondering what one would expect.

You're flowering with floro tubes? Did i miss something here? Do you have pics of your plants for us to see. I think you will end up with very poor results flowering with floro tubes.

They are T5 flouros with red spectrum tubes. They work fine as long as they stay up there.
