It completely depends on the genetics of the Tree or strain , if you will.

I have had really good smoke that was dried and cured for months and still tasted like grass, but would put you out at the third toke.

Some Ganja, just does not have a strong smell, but if it is good medicine, that is the most important.

Blessings,

send it to me if your not going to smoke it, I love the smell and taste as well but I have had some widow that is smooth and has really almost no taste and smell but knocks you on your ass, honestly whats wrong with weed that does not stink the house up and gets you stoned as fuck. I am wondering if yours is stinky while still on the plant? some are already dank smelling, cutting early will cause it to smell like grass. good luck man send me the weed if your not going to smoke it

a lot has to do with what you start with

you cant star with a sweet fruty gene and end up with a dank stank must start with a dank stank to end up with a dank stank

called genetics

it will only smell dank if it is dank. you cant grow dirt weed and smell like lemons. the strain has to be there for the smell to be there.

Um SKUNK? if its stanky dank the long cure will make it stink in a good way other than that there is a limit to how much it will stink depending on genetics but everyone has already told you this, just take your time and have patience, caring for marijuana tests a lot of your virtues I believe the end result is a reflection of the grower, it shows in the bud if you grew it with care and patience. hang for 5-7 days maintain a humidity slightly lower than what you maintained during the late stages of your grow keep temps around 65-70 keep it in the dark and slowly lower the humidity, make sure fresh air is cycled in daily and when the stem are almost dry enough to snap put the bud in paper bags for on day then into jars. Once your bud is in jars you need to open them once a day for an hour a day for the next 4-7 days after this check once a week for a month, after this it should be dank and ready to smoke.

No one seems to be telling the poster the answer to his question...
In my experience, this is what I do for the most part:
Cut off the branches that have buds
Remove all fan laves and trim leaves that are protruding off the buds
Hang the branches from a hanger in a dark closet, circulate the air in your closet twice a day (just open the door and shut it again)
If the branches "snap" when you bend them, cut off buds into an air tight jar (try not to use plastic, use glass jars if ya got money to spend) and seal the jar
Two times a day, remove all bud from the jar, place it on a screen or glass table (like a coffee table) and let the wet bud sit out untill the outer surface of the bud is dry
Do this for as many days as it takes until the buds are "ripe" and ready to smoke

hang dry till the stem bends a little before snapping, then loosely pack in big glass jars. (make sure the jars dont smell like pickles or mustard of course. brand new canning jars are good.) open lid once or twice a day for a few minutes, fanning some fresh air in. every other day, take empty jar mix everthing up, put it back in. keep opening the jar every day or two until youre happy with it.

Yep!!!

The smell will go away around the 1.5 - 2 week mark in curing, but keep curing and that funk WILL come back and get much stronger (assuming you have the genetics for a "stinky" strain to begin with -- some weed won't ever stink, others you have to work to tone it down it is so strong). I tend to like a bit of stink myself --- that is why I like skunk-based strains (currently growing BF LSD [skunk#1 x mazar], Dinafem Powerkush [skunk#1 x Afghani], and World of seeds Skunk-47 [skunk#1 x AK47], plus a little Cali Orange Bud from Ceres just for good measure, lol).

Don't know what else to tell ya --- either it has the potential for "that funk" or it doesn't. If it doesn't, NO curing method will change that, but if it does, just keep curing it and you'll end up with some shit that will stink up any area it's in, even when you never open the bag!!!!

Good luck and good growing dude!!!!:bigjoint:
