I wanna do hydro tomatoes!

My outdoor plants petered out 2/3 way thru, and the summer temps beat the hell out of the fruits... decided to rock some indoor ones, in my veg room, since I got a lil room, and trellis them up the side walls w/ 2x4 wire fencing.

The research so far suggests DWC is not the best plan...

I am thinking a tote w/ 2 plants (1 roma 1 beefsteak)

Tote as a res. w/ a slab of 3-6" rockwool, w/ the plants started in 6x6" blocks on top of that....

Being totally inexperienced with flood n drain, or drip feed systems, figured, better hit the forums and ask people who know what they are talking about before I start...

What am I looking at for pump/emitters/timers what kind of flow and timing on the nute solution... Is there a part of my plant that will make me really regret it later? (I am considering raising the res off the ground 2 add a drain valve for changing solution)

Anyone got some good dialed in systems, feel free to share the "This is how its done..." I am open to ideas, so far no items purchased, nothing started, all in the head still....

Maybe a small aquaponics setup? Get your fish on with your tomatoes. From what I understand the growth rates are superior to conventional hydroponics in these setups once the ecosystem is well established and not that far off before being established as well as being a bit easier to maintain IMO (I don't like fucking with nutrients myself too much).

Spider mites rape my tomatoes in summer heat. Only thing that didn't completely die are my weeds and succulents.
