I used regular garden dirt to grow my seed...

So i got a seed from a stash that i bought and ind that covid-19 times i thought, i am gonna test it and try to plant that seed even if i dont know is feminized or not. So i germinated it with the 2 plates and paper towel technique and it has gone very well, and to try no to spend the money that i dont have i used dirt from grandparent garden where he plant is vegetables, it's been 1 week and i dont see nothing pop up, my questions is does it take longer since it's not specified soil ? I also had the plant in a pleasant environment that's hot enough.

Yes it probably will take a little longer . you dont want to get the soil SUPER WET either in early stages. You can gently dig around where you planted it to check if you wanted. Get some chicken soup for the soil from Dr. Jimz

if it's not sprouted after a week I doubt it will...normal garden soil usually isn't the best to grow weed but I know people who have done it with mixed results

Thakyou so much, I checked and gently diged arround the seed i saw that the "head" is hardened but i now am i am gonna see if i have some roots underneath.

Don't go digging around. If it's going to sprout and grow it will. All you'll do by digging around in the soil is damage it.

Not true man just have to be careful doing so have done it a few times myself and all plants have been fine

Well i guess the seed was damaged because i digged and actualy the seed didnt evolve nothing in 1 week it was just the lillte root it goted when germinated. ;( sadd

But hey i just bought 3 seeds form seedsman,

and know i think of buying this grow kit for 50 euros

can i get some tips on how to make a good use of this investment ?

So just because you didn't break a root or anything it's a sound practice? Whatever. Don't you have the patience to wait for the seed to sprout? What do you gain by digging around?

You can walk around on the ledge of a skyscraper you just have to be careful doing so.

Yes, it is true. Taproots get damaged very easily and a damaged taproot can be the end of the seedling.

Not ideal but so what........gotta learn.

If you decided you want to really do this for real, read a grow manual (online). It takes about 2 hours to get the very basics down and if you focus on germination and.veg stages, you can teach yourself as you go.

If instead you want to wing it...my reco is dont. In or out, dont waste your time if you arent commited. Its not a huge thing to learn to grow but to do it well takes some effort. When it comes to canna I would never get involved if I wasnt all in...I want good results!

If the seed got damaged it was from you digging around in the soil. You said it germinated in paper towels and then you planted it. If it was fine when you planted it the damage happened when you went digging around in the soil to look at it.

i only did today, 1 week after i planted it the seed did not evolve nothing.

But forgot that now ia m putting alumin fold al over a space that i have to install proper light, and getting the seed in proper soil.
I am gonna do it for real and i will spent sometime reading more manuals. If you guys have some online good manuals ta share i will apreciate it ;D
