I Think My Grow is Garbage

I have a dilemma! I have a plant in the ground one in a pot, both are flowering. The fan leaves of the one in the pot are turning yellow while the top of the stems are dark, vibrant purple. It doesn't look like it is going to continue to flower, it has a small yield now and doesn't look like its going to continue compare to the one in the ground which also has yellowing leaves. I would like to give it some more MiracleGrow tomato fertilizer mixed with molasses but the soil in the pot is suppose to have ferts already in it that last 9 months!! I didn't know that when i got the soil tho. And i don't want to smoke my buds with dangerous chemical ferts in it. What should i do, is the plant done flowering????

Another problem i have is that i don't think i removed the male soon enough and i think it might have pollinated my 2 females!! There are seed pods in the bud, but i don't know it they just haven't opend yet.

I will post pictures soon its rainy today. Thanks in advance for your help

purple leaves means very potent plant. but she had to have these purple leaves at last weeks of flowering

yellow leaves means lack of N or/and light.

purple stems can mean a lot of things

could be the strain, could be temperature problems, etc....

yellow leaves also could mean lots of things

if the yellow leaves are only at the bottom of the plant, its normal, leaves that are not used anymore die off

pics would help

i wouldnt add all that furtilizer if the soil has it already, try mixing it 1/2 or 1/4 strength

you can eliminate the furts in the soil before harvest by giving it straight water for the last week or so (aka Flushing the soil)

as for pollinating the plants, there's nothing you can do now but let it continue to flower, you will have seeds in your buds at the end

if the girls have been pollinated they wont produce much
as soon as the girls are pollinated they stop THC production and start producing seeds
as for the yellowing .... this could be a number of things including normal change due to the plant using the energt stored in the fan leaves to produce buds / thc / or in your case seeds

the purple sounds like pheno to me "genetics" however it could also be potasium deficiency

Thanks for your replies! But i will try to clarify some things tomorrow when i post some pictures. Why is MG fertilizer bad? And don't the seed pods swell as if a seed were growing but them opens once they are not pollinated?

The rain stopped so i got some pics. The first picture is one of the yellow leaves(cant really tell from the picture tho)at the top with the purple stem. All the stems on the plant are now purple. The other pics are of what i hope are empty seed pods that will soon open.

They look pretty damn healthy to me. The calyx's are HUGE. Yes maybe you are growing seeds, but just let them finish.

Don't force too much miracle grow on them. If you haven't added any ferts then ok, go ahead and use some every other water with a good flush in between but never use it every watering and don't force it.

How many weeks into flowering are they?

It's completely normal for fan leaves to start yellowing and falling off in late flowering but you don't look like you're that far in.

Why is MG bad? You get what you pay for and it's cheap. Real nutrients designed for our plants are not sold for $5 a bottle, but they're worth every penny you pay.

Having said that I've been broke lately so I'm using the same crap MG soil and similar off the shelf garbage nutrients.

Thanks for the help!! I don't know how far it is into flowering, but i would say around half way through.

Another problem! I just discovered that this plant has spotted leaves. I haven't been keeping an eye on the other leaves except the yellowing. I am really worried that its a bad spider mite infestation. I am going to try to spray it with neem oil tomorow. What do you think it is? Could it be a disease? And what should i do?? Most of the spots are at the bottom to mid way up the plant, mostly on the big fan leaves. And most of the fan leaves have big holes or rips in them which i guess is from bugs, but i never see anything on the plants.

Thanks again!

Its ridiculously hard to try to spray the whole plant tho, bout 90% of the neem oil spray just goes into the air.

Should i be spraying the buds/flowers lightly or not at all? Do i have to worry about overspray gettin the buds? And do i have to spray the bottom of the leaves or just the top?

Spray the phuck out of it, get every inch, every leaf top and bottom (meaning the underside of the leaves too) and the buds. I have a much lighter infestation at the moment too, so you're not alone. It's that time of year and that's just how it goes.

The neem oil I have says it's good for vegetables right up until the day of harvest. (not that I'm suggesting that, this stuff doesn't smell good and I imagine it doesn't taste too good either)

Yours?

Thanks! My neem oil is Safer's brand but it says you can use it on almost all plants it doesn't say anything about using it close to harvest. It also says to avoid contact with skin and clothes. I am almost out so i am going to start using soapy water. Would that work?

Another problem is that this plant is not done flowering but a lot of the white hairs are small and brown most are purple. Last year the hairs were white then when it was done fully formed and big the hairs started to turn brown never purple. The plant can't be ready for harvest its not even close to being done size wise, hardly any bud. Should i just leave it?
Note, the nights are fairly cold, could this have something to do with the purple hairs. And i also notice a lot of little black flies stuck in the top miny cola. I will post pictures later

Thanks again

Purpling is humidity related sometimes ;) and cold weather...the neem oil you're supposed to wipe down every leaf with a sponge to keep from wasting it.

Okay, well then how would i tell when its ready to harvest when all the hairs are already purple/red and brown? And what do i do about all these little black flies under all the new leaves with trichs on them? I think i am going to start using a dish soap and water solution 1:40 ratio is this okay to spray the buds with? If not would a water cure "clean" the buds? I would rather just air dry tho. Thanks again!

you can use a 30X mini pocket microscope from radio shack .. like 20 bux to look at the trichomes / resin heads and when about 30% or so are amber its ready or for a more up sativa type high pull it when the thrichomes are cloudy but not turned amber yet. for more info on this check out subcools thread "amber alert" in his section of organics here is the link to subcools thread about when to harvest https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/66405-amber-alert.html
