I think I have spider mites, how can I solve this?

I'm using John Innes no1. Have been told by more experienced growers that it works well and they have never had issues with it.

burns tend to happen to the tips, and then work inwards, the nitrogen 'claw' is the most famous deficiencies tend to work from the bottom of the plant and larger leaves
but deficiencies can arise in many ways, missing/unbalanced nutrition in soil, water PH isn't quite right, odd imbalances, ...

Get a magnifying glass and look under a few leaves that have the little spots on the tops.
An ounce of prevention is way better if you have time and resources. You will probably end up doing it anyway
but under stress and while your plants are getting sucked dry.

that's interesting, see many singing their praises, i'm wary on anything that gives off some kind of gas that fills a room to the point it will kill bugs
which doesn't sound too healthy

So that soil has no perfectly round balls in it? Its hard but from the first pic it almost looks like a few

spots to big to be spidermites just went through a bout wth them u hav some sort of deficiency r somthin mites will make tiny white spots not the blotches i see on ur leaves i had them bad there atracted to very resinous plants had to take everything out my room and sprayed it down wth neem oil and safe soap yea i went alittle overboard but once established they can be a bitch to get rid of !

trust me i tried it more than once out of desperation didnt even faze them !

That soil does have nuets in it. Not sure if any is time release or not. If it is overwatering could
be the problem. You mentioned more experienced growers have you shown them the plants yet?

nah havent had the opportunity yet. some parts of the leaf are lighter in colour compared to the rest and others are crispy and brown. Could this actually be overwatering?

What is your water regimine? I`m not saying overwatering as in water being the problem.
I`m saying overwatering a time released nutrient like little balls of nitrogen will overfeed the plant
and burn it to a crisp. Maybe your cooking it with light also

sounds like a problem i had wth a GDP plant does the stalk hav a purple tint ? i thinking mg deficency nute lock how old is tht plant has growth slowed any tablespoon of epsom salt in a gal of water fixed the problem for me urs looks very similar to the plant i had wth tht problem

Consulted a few of my friends regarding the issue and was told it looked like it had been scorched where it was too close to the light with we leaves.

Moved it a couple of inches lower and I am closely monitoring and inspecting the leaves daily to see if this was indeed the problem.

It looks like a burn for me, maybe I'm wrong!
