Its all good.

There are a few people that think they are the reincarnation of Jesus; some of them are cult leaders.

Maybe you can start a cult: I heard that cult leaders get laid a lot by their followers. Personally, I wouldnt know, since I dont have a cult.

Curtently, there is no way to tell if someone is a reincarnation of someone else.

Either way, its all good. And at the very least, Doritos, you are a god to Me.

There is no such thing as a complete, exact reincarnation of a person, or anything for that matter. Similar to how if you cloned your body, it wouldn't be the exact same as your current one... it wouldn't be YOU (by YOU I mean you wouldn't be experiencing the clone's life in first person, like you are this one). it would also be different in many other ways. reincarnations are purely made up because somebody finds similarities in himself to another person. There are certain "spirits" or "essences" that live on and you see in aspects of different individuals throughout time, in personalities, behaviors, intelligence, appearance etc... But you never see 2 individual things that are completely identical in all ways. The whole "no two snowflakes are the same" is always a facepalm, because no two separate things AT ALL are the exact same. It's impossible, or else they wouldn't be perceived as being two separate things

With that said, we are all "reincarnations" of the same thing. It's the conscious self.. Infinitely dividing, replicating, creating new, expanding in any and all directions it finds etc. Separation and individuality is an illusion... There is only one "soul".

So, nobody is a reincarnation of another human. We are all reincarnations of the original source, which constantly evolves.

I dig it... I see your logic.

Im going to agree with most of what you said here.

Jesus did not reincarnate.
After he was killed he transferred this consciousness to a recently deceased persons body. That is why when he went to meet his disciples they could not recognize him.
He was able to do this as he attained a level of spiritual attainment known as 'never returning'. it is a very high level of spiritual attainment where one retains the knowledge of the life just ended and keeps it with him/herself into the new body.

More later.

You: "transferred this consciousness to a recently deceased person's body.".....

Definition, reincarnation: the belief that the soul, upon death of the body, comes back to earth in another body or form. 2. rebirth of the soul in a new body.

What you said is pretty much the same as reincarnation... But your first words were that he "did not reincarnate". He didn't transfer his consciousness into a dead human body after the crucifixion... The bible doesn't say anything like that, and I'm not sure where you got that idea. Jesus' resurrection represents his messages and teachings successfully getting through to people, which keeps him alive in the world in spirit.

Random bible quotes:

-It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison

-If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

See?

Not sure why I always feel compelled to clear up religious text misunderstandings these days... I've never been part of any religion. I've always had an extremely strong curiosity in religions/philosophy though, which led me to spend a shitload of time studying them.

Reincarnation is common to many belief systems in the East (and now the West).
There's a ton of stuff underlying what i wrote.
Simply put: Jesus reached a very high level of spiritual attainment. My understanding of his life and 'death' has evolved over decades as I've come to understand this at a deeper and deeper level. Most of us reincarnate and are powerless over the uncontrolled cycle of birth and death. Jesus, and many others i might add, reached a very high level of attainment and, thus, was able to simultaneously transfer his consciousness and carry everything with him. mind you, this is very rare both then and now. I understand Jesus in a somewhat different way than most. I have a great deal of respect and reverence for him as well. I just see it very differently than most.

Faith and metaphysics are tough. No mri's or acid solutions can prove what anyone knows, myself included.

The last thing i want to do is offend people. I probably should have shut my mouth!

Well, apologies for misunderstanding your first post! I was saying a similar thing as you, but in a different way (I think). Communication can be a bitch.

"Jesus' resurrection represents his messages and teachings successfully getting through to people, which keeps him alive in the world in spirit."

Instead of that, and my bible quotes, I basically meant that Jesus was able to see and understand life, and reincarnation as it is, and able to dissolve ego. By this he could see through the illusions that most people cling to, and be free from any delusional thought. Being in that state, he is in his truest form, which frees the spirit from "worldly things"... which eliminates "death", and renders it meaningless. <--put as simply as I could.

The ego part is the pain :blsmoke:.
