When is a good time to start lowering the ppm?
Rate of growth slows once flowers are set, this varies from strain to strain and at what rate you are applying nutes. Generally the fifth to sixth week is a good starting point to lower the nutes. I run 1400-1600ppm at the hottest point and at the 5th week I drop to 1000-1200, 6th to 7th week down to 700-800 and the last week to 10 days straight water.

People think that you will loose product doing this but actually once my girls are on straight water they really turn on for that last week and get much heavier and seems to trigger ripining..

So let me get this straight...smoking ORGANIC nitrogen is O.K.?

Chemical or organic makes no difference and if you think differently, your just kidding yourself, but please tell your patients what you are doing or not doing to their meds.
smoking weed itself is not healthy, perhaps a vape or eating would be better, if health is the main concern

do you think smoking weed that you have flushed is more healthy ?

do you grow all your own food ?

i know some folk like to over-complicate things
each to their own
peace :)

I just did a little experiment myself here. Had 6 Sour Diesels ready for flushing. I flushed 4 and only watered 2. Chopped em all at the same time. Just finished curing and I can't tell the difference AT ALL. All the buds turn into white ash once burned. No chemical smell, no nothing.

Though I have to admit the concept of flushing makes sense, a lot of sense.. but in this little experiment I couldn't tell the difference at all.

if that is the case I highly recommend getting shooting powder. It is the best finisher out there....truly magical. It tweeks the growth instinct causing a massive second flower burst. 20%

My thing is this... Why wouldn't you flush? Even if it makes no difference, it saves you 2 weeks worth of nutes. If it hurts yield then that is a different problem... this might have already been brought up in this thread, so sorry if it was....

EDIT:
I'm into the whole water thing as well. So my experiment was in a hydro setup. Not sure if you into dirt but I know that in water it I can taste chemical if not flushed. All I ever do is just swap to plain water last 14 days and WOW!!! :eyesmoke:

That's weird, I did that experiment with white widow and had a FEW ppl try it. Gave them A and B and then told them to tell me which smoke had chemical taste. Every last person INCLUDING myself could tell off the rip which had been flushed. I mean IDK but I did EVERTHING the same on all the girls just left one with nutes all the way thru but she was choped, hung, dried and cured EXACTLY the same way.

Then again SD is my FAVORITE strain in the world (to date, could change) and I know that it's such a TASTY smoke so maybe the fact that SD has such a amazing taste it has ability to mask other taste. Being serious too, cause I have since got another WW strain that is MUCH tastier then the one I did test with. SO that said, maybe stronger tasting strains mask that nasty chemical taste I hate ever so much.

I thought my experiment was conclusive BUT I now see that I have to try it again with a better strain then the one I chose last time. Another round of Orange Kush is up in a bit. Might try it with that and see what comes of it. I'll see if I find this thread when I am done with round two of this experiment and post my findings!

I don't flush anymore, flushing is not a myth to those who believe in it  I have been a proponent of flushing and have left that camp, been there done that and not going back. bongsmilie

My ladies bathe in a reservoir that is 1.1 EC - 1.5 EC from start of veg to end of bloom, always have great smoke; I don't really care what color my ashes are! :???:

regards,
i thought flushing helps in the way when you stop feeding your plant it takes all the nut from the fan lief speeding up the end phase in a way or pushing the plant to finish faster ????

and yes it will flush some of them chemicle out , i have smoken bluecheese 3 days before i flushed and it was very harsh on my chest tasted like crap, another bud 4 days after i started flushing and the harsh chemicle taste was more or less not there

Again, anyone who thinks they can force a plant to render minerals it has consumed is cracking rat turds. Plants have no anus, they are just raised by some.

The flushing vs not debate .Classic.Funny as noone ever wins ,some people swear blind one way and some swear the other way.

This is what i want to know. How come the top growers flush before entering the cannabis cup?How come the company that sells my nutes (organic) advise to flush ? It can't be a marketing ploy, "stop using our product for 1 week before harvest" How the hell is that marketing? It's advice from people who i presume know what they're doing.

I am not going to try and pretend i am scientificaly adept to really know why or why i shouldn't flush ,but reasons to flush may be if you have fed heavily and there is a salt build up it MIGHT affect the taste A BIT.I was also wondering if it could help the plant come to full maturity faster.?. surely if you keep feeding a plant everything it needs to be healthy it will prolong it's life longer and maybe the maturity will be slowed down to ..just a thought.

I'm not going to go the full week of flush for mine this time.Since c99 is a short flowering time plant i'mgoing to feed to day 49 and plain water for 4-5 days

It's personal preference at the end of the day ,if you don't wanna flush ,don't and leave us flushers alone
