I think flushing is a myth heres why

LOL, just because everyone does it does not make it any less of a myth.

You should go stand in front of a mirror and say "Bloody Mary" three times :D, myth or reality? I know lot's of people who still do it :D

regards,
Good relation to the mythology. But seriously the feed chart thing is too consistent across the board to just call a myth. Man everyone i knew up until this point KNOWS to flush. No questions asked. It's referred to in all the medical marijuana grow bibles/ handbooks/ guides.

Flushing is a well proven technique to remove excess salts from your growth medium, what this thread is about is the MYTH of 'pre-harvest' flushing, which some believe removes excess salts/minerals/water from the plant itself; some even believe the buds are flushed and will dry sooner.

You cant mention grow bibles and hand books on flushing threads, everyone on flushing threads knows more than those guys anyway. I was just given an almost ripe big ol top off a plant as a "gift" and i dried it for four days and stuck it in a jar and burped it for four days. It was feeling good in my fingers so i figured id try the chemdog out. I took a big ol rip out of a pipe and it felt like it was making my chest freak out. My lungs felt like they were going to explode sort of. It was on exhale that it happened and it lasted for about 20 seconds until it tapered off. It was like a lung spasm. I know the grower was using synthetic fertz and obviously didnt flush because the bud wasnt ready yet. It dawned on me the next day that there hadnt been a flush and he was feeing pretty heavy. Could this be a result of to short of a cure or do you think its related to not flushing?

Totally because of not flushing. I have smoked my well flushed herb as soon as it is dry no cure at all and it was like smoking good smooth weed and it just tastes a little "green" because there is still chlorophyll in it because it has not been cured. I have smoked "not flushed" bud from a local grower that was cured for two weeks and it did not have me coming back for more even though look, smell, and buzz were good. It was simply nasty harsh on the lungs and throat. Not good medicine.

Unless that chemdog was just a super lung expander; I know most OG's are. But there is a difference between prickly itchy in the throat and lungs and beautiful lung epansion from pure potent cannabis smoke.

Im going to get ahold of the grower and see what he thinks.

Once again I will re-iterate. Only have to flush if there is inorganic salt build up. Which is caused by chem and synthetic nutes. If your grow is 100% organic. No need to flush. The organic nutes are always there breaking down feeding the soil. When organic You have a balance or food web going. Flushing disrupts the balance and the plant becomes deficient..

If buds dry to fast they can crackle which mimics what happens when
inorganic salt build up is there. If the ash is grey to white its clean. If the ash is black its still has chems in it.

THE END

you would do the same with vegetables that you eat in a Home organic garden...... why in the hell would you not do it for your smoke. I know ppl with chronic COPD plus other respiratory problems that are combined ( COPD with Sarcoidosis ) Flush vs not flush they can not and I mean CAN NOT smoke the medicine if it has not been properly flushed. You need to heed to basic agriculture propication and humane consumption and know the fertilizers FUCKING KILL!!

I can tell you've never grown veggies because if you had, you'd know that fruits and veggies on their respective plants/trees don't ripen at the same time. They yield perpetually over a couple of months which makes it impossible to 'flush' your crop.

That's not even a word that exists in the English language.

Ya maybe if you had them all in the same pond. Farmers dont fertilize all the way to harvest, theyre cheap. Most farmers fertilize before they plant with manure and say fuck it. I highly doubt a grain farmer is going to fertilize right before they make silage.

Not saying the poster was wrong, but almost anything will turn grey if you put heat to it long enough, so I'm sure somebody somewhere is thinking their shit is clean because they hold the Bic to it for 5 minutes.
But, I have had shit pop and crack because it was still wet in the middle.

ok so basically any chemicals you used in the plants growing process are still in the plants system so people flush because the plant will be absorbing just water and will need to use up the last of whatever nutrients they had and by that they wont have excess salt build up because if you dont flush then youll get chemcal bud that will be worse for you because your smoking extra chemicals that you dont need and can be harmful to you so flushing is a good thing to do whether its by the gallons or by the week you need to rid your bud of all the chemicals its absorbed its like detoxing yourself, yes you have aten horribly alot of junk foodbut if you use a detox kit and drink plain water youll feel better too and thats why one persons plant seemed to bloom more because the chemicals were waying down the plant after so long. FLUSH. I havent grown at all in my life but I've read watched and researched enough to know that you should flush and it doesnt matter which method but you dont need to smoke unnnecessary chemicals. The end.

Everyone has an opinion, but your opinion is not qualified. These are the opinions one should keep to themselves.

You should try reading a bit of this thread - there's actual science involved here. :-?

So let me get this straight...smoking ORGANIC nitrogen is O.K.?

Chemical or organic makes no difference and if you think differently, your just kidding yourself, but please tell your patients what you are doing or not doing to their meds.
