I Supect The Seeds I Just Got Are Bad ...

Some of you already know I ordered some Nirvana White Widow seeds from Dr. Chronic and I truly think they are just plain bad ... I tried germinating 6 seeds and only two popped up once they cracked open ... one never open it's baby leaves and died ... the other is sick ... growing very slowly ... I suspected something was wrong when the tap root didn't develop after cracking through ... all the healthy seeds I've germinated had tap roots that grew in the water ... that's how I germinate seeds ... the ones that didn't I knew would take longer to develop if popped or wouldn't make it ...
I've germinated 100's of seeds and I've never had this problem with soil I know is good ...
... I just find it hard to believe it's too hot for it to develop ... if the other plants can do it ... I see no reason why the WW can't either ...
I checked Chronic's non- germination policy ...

13. My seeds will not germinate
  • We carry out regular tests on all our seeds as do the breeders ,Our stock is always fresh , it is not our policy to sell seed stock more than 6 months old .

If you do experience problems we suggest you contact the breeder and inquire if any other consumers have experienced problems . We will NOT replace seeds that have not germinated due to grower error .
So as far as they are concern it's my fault ... but the seeds did germinate ... it's just that they are sick ... I will contact Chronic and see what they have to say ... or if they will respond ... I tried to contact Nirvana, but their email page is down ...

I'll post if I get a response ...

I have some stunted seedlings which seeds came from dr.chronic. They all popped thier shell and came out of the dirt 1 day after germ. Now they wont even grow thier second sets of leaves and today its been 2 weeks.
Im gonna order more seeds and try the dr. one more time.

Wow ... you are the fourth grower I have come across with the same seeds from the same guy with the same problems ... it's pretty obvious something wrong with the seeds ... I will wait and see what Chronic does ...

No ... don't do it ... a lot of growers are having problems with his seeds ... go with someone else or contact Chronic and see if he will make good ... Don't waste more money on him ... he could be going down the tube ...

This fourm is awesome. my buddie orderd snow white seeds form nirvana and had a hard time. germinated awesome then nothing dead. I'm a newb I lern what I read here. I did get 2 mid grade seeds to florish and r doing well so i took a snow white. she germinated poped out nice. and in one daybrokethru the soil. So the bitch as I call her is doing well. I hope? now we did get Fem seeds. I found with the mids they like alot of heat. This humidity is killing me just like the plants outdoors. also I am lighting 24 7 till flowering. so I just leave them and let nature take it's course I really think theywill pull throuhg or am I full of shit?

yeah I guess my calanderwas off by 2 days, still close enough to two weeks. Today i moved them under a humidifier and put 2 t5's on them instead. Ive always heard more light=more growth but I think these seedlings are stunted.
And what other company gives speedy service other than the doc? THIS IS NOT A LIE! Ilive on the west coast and my pack of seeds was in my hands after only 4 days! no shit. Thats pretty hard to beat.

I know where you are coming from ... the doc was fast ... 8 days to the midwest ... Peakseeds took 34 days ... but I tell ya what ... the peakseeds are doing fantastic ...

... I rather wait for seeds and have good ones than get them fast and be poor quality ... :-|

the doc doesn't breed the seeds. It's probably cuz they are nirvana seeds which aren't the best.

I thought they were ... a grower on another board gave them a great review ... I guess he had a different batch of seeds ... I haven't seen him post lately but I will ask when I see him again ...

... but I wish I knew before I ordered that nirvana wasn't very good ... if the doc or nirvana doesn't make good I will let the seedbankupdate know about it and post warnings to other growers thinking of buying them ... :joint:

I ordered 10 WW from Dr. Chron and I have only germinated one because I have some blueberry growing, but the one I germinated popped up out of the soil and it looks fine so far. It is only like 3 days old though

I hate when I see threads like this....

I bought White Widow and AK48 but all three AK48 and White Widow seeds germinated. But I am waiting when they sprout.

I know what you mean ... I tried to find thread like this before I ordered ... but the doc seem to have a good rep ...
I'm going to work with what I have and see if I can't get them back on track ... it would be quicker that going through the banks ...

I thought I would chime in... I have 10 blue mystic seeds from nirvana. I germed six total. all cracked and had a little root about the size of a finger nail. Planted them, 2 popped through soil. Both died less than a week after. Ive pulled off several harvests and never had problems like this. I do the same things I always do and these seeds dont like any of it..LOL. Im buying from dutchbreed soon.. I should mention some partner growers are doing early misty from nirvana and out of 10 they have only ended up with 4 alive. They have an even better area than me...

Yeah that sucks!! Have you ever thought to propagate your own seeds for long term on-hand status?
