My plants are 1 month old from seeds
They are serious seeds Chronic
1st let me state that up till 3 days ago i am sure my ph was off I had a cheap meter and I am 100% positive that it was off.
Now since then the PH is at 5.7
I am growing under a 1000w HPS
The room temps are at tops 85 but not that long ussualy at 75
RH is at 45%
My ppm are at 300 with a base ppm from the city at 100ppm

About a week ago they stopped growing at all. And now this brown yellowing is happening. At first it was jsut yellowing so I added some nute ( up too 400ppm )
And almost immediate this happened. I have backed it down but they wont come out of it and grow there still not growing.

Both pics are of the same strain in the same table.

I need help please.

what kind of system do you grow in ?

what are you feeding with ?

you say it got worse after you upped it to 400 ?

can you take a pic of the whole plant so we can see whats goin on ? its very hard to tell exactly what probs are period , let alone with just the leaf. i would like to see how big it is just to get an idea of how much food to feed.

it looks underfed and overfed in the same pic , so its real hard to tell. young seeds dont eat much , but a month can change that real quick with certain species.

Well zildgin you probably ph locked them and then burnt them. If you running in soil flush the crap outa them! If you are in hydro change you res to straight water for a few days and then slowly ramp up your nuts! I have never had any luck with them damn meters go to a pool store or a hardware store and get the kind that uses the drops! Cheap and if you can keep from dropping the vial or try to make a mini bong out of the vial its all good! Ps bong didnt work!! Bummer Bsafe

I feed with foxfarm Tiger bloom and alittle calmag and alittle silica.
I grow in Hydro with a flood and drain table I flood every 6hrs for 15min
My res is 18gal.
I have bought a real good meter so I know my ph is dead on and has been for 3 days now. The problems with leafs yellowing has seemed to stop. But everything is at a stand still. They just wont grow.DSC00163.jpgDSC00164.jpgDSC00165.jpgDSC00166.jpg

All this damage happened overnight after I upped it to 400ppm. before that there was alittle bit of tiny brown spots but nothing to really worry about that was on 1 plant and then this happened.

400ppm on what scale?

can you give an EC reading? those leaves are underfertilised.

you say you add silica, are you aware that this acts as a pH up? it takes a while to change the pH. i think you have pH issues due to the silica.

I am sorry I cant give EC. I use silica every other res change. I know I had a PH problem but I do not now this I am also sure of. But the real problem is I dont know to back off or to feed them. When I tried to feed they went crazy and in 12hr time looked like this. But logic says they cant be ok with 200-250-300ppm. I wish there was a geek squad for idoor hydro grows.

ph could be out...how do you check your ph?

i have started seedlings at 3.2EC... cannabis has a salinity tolerance and trust me my friend you've barely touched it. so something else is wrong... you noticed it when you fed them... how much silica did you use? silica will fuck with your pH slowly over time. You have to mix it properly and use MINIMAL amounts.

other things that will stop them growing are over watering, maybe a pathogen is attacking the root system...

this early in the grow you don't have salinity issues that's for sure... pH, but only if the silica is messing with it, pH is not as much of a problem as people will have you believe generally. Over watering, very common noob mistake... under fertilising even, and i think you are quite low. other shit doesn't bear thinking about.

i don't use silica anymore, and i know a lot of growers that stopped purely because it works as a pH up so well.

Ok so I just could not help myself I refused to belive that it was nute burn so I mixed a res this afternoon at 400ppm again and let it run as normal.

They look like vampires in the sun....burnt. So I guess there is my answer rite? So now what change the res and run just ph'ed water for how long?

Then what?

OR could it be something eles that someone has seen or had experience with?

those saying a silica additive have clearly not used AN rhinoskin, pop it in your res and the ph goes down :/

And again, I've run seedlings straight up at 1000 ppm veg nutes, some people were saying they were burning seedlings at this ppm with a different line of nutrients, they claimed the nutrients to be "hotter" than the ones I used, they also claimed it was the N, my nutrients have a much higher N count than theirs did, I have never burnt a thing is veg and I've run freshly rooted clones at 1500 ppm. I see none or very little tip burn in those photos.

ok soooooooooooo what do you think it is? Cause they lay dormant till i give them nutes and they go to shit pretty much after the first feeding?
