So 2 RIU growers are going to make an led. Nice!
Perfectly dark green a week ago. Now its spreading throughout the plant like cancer.
Make a anti-Defficiency board & ill be the first to buy it.

Look. That's a GROWER PROBLEM. Not an LED one.
You think all the LED users here on this forum deal with that using LEDs and just put up with it?

Ya I hear ya! I'm building a tool with FLIR imaging and tuneable SPD channels ranging from 300nm - 850nm. Hopefully Ill be able to add some useful data to the SPD vs ambient/RH correlation discussion in the near future.

I'd try adding in some K and inc RH. Good luck. :bigjoint:

Sure its a grower problem. The problem is nothing ive tried after listening to several suggestions worked. If every plant is healthy & thriving except the strain that is deficient or whatever you wanna call it from being under led then its not so much a grower problem as it is the leds causing it.
Dude, this isnt funny & its a real thing.

Maybe under that Bar8, But cobs give me zero issues.

I have 4 flowering rooms. Two are all LED, one is a DE 6/750 and 315 cmh room, and the last one is "old school" - HPS 600. All four of my flowering rooms receive the exact same nutrient ratios. I have no deficiencies in any of my rooms.

I've heard of people running into cal and/or mag deficiencies when switching to LED. This hasn't been my experience.

I suspect the Cal-Mag recommendation for LED might be doing more harm than help in certain cases. @Randomblame and I (and others) have been discussing Calcium uptake under LED in relation to high VPD (low humidity, high temperature) conditions and there may be evidence that excess Ca is taken up because stomata are not triggered to close like they are under HPS or sunlight (which have infrared triggers) and can lock out other nutrients, including K, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn etc. If you have hard water with lots of Calcium Carbonate, it could exacerbate Ca lockout of other nutrients.

But I've also found LEDs provide such rapid growth at times, that you can sometimes underfeed them. I usually hedge my bets and feed near full-strength nutrient with lots of runoff. Silica additives can also help with excess salts and imbalances.

Im glad u guys r working on it. All ive heard so far is stuff thats not working. Mag has prevented purple stems i think & maybe protected the other plants, not sure cuz new strains. But the yellowing leaves (start at middle) get dark veins in the middle & droop. Enough of that n plant stopd drinking then ur fucked around wk 4.

More of a warm white led problem for me. Added reds dont help but higher k-temps do.

R u in coco? Cuz thats where i see it most common.
Have you tried adding Epsom? 2tbls/gal? I raised my light about 10in, and added in Ca-Mg, Epsom, and K (ca-mg first and then moved on to the epsom/k, just trying to find what was missing) and it seemed to help. I think mine was Mg def and showing early K. Yours looks similar to me but I'm no expert. If your under 50% RH try to get it up there, I think a little less light intensity and increased RH will help it fix itself while it gets the stuff it was lacking.

Slight update. I'm waiting to hear back from a company that gives a better rate at lower quantities. If they will ship to me then Ill be able to drop the required funds from 300K to 100k and drop the lights cost by 100USD per item. Since there has been a bit of buzz around just buying the boards themselves I will drop the price even more than $100 and make them $175 each. (If the company will ship to me)

Also due to the feed back I've been receiving regarding the price... There is a market out there for people that dont want the highest efficiency possible, but would settle for 2.5umol/J. So that said Ill be making an option for this. I'm also waiting on a quote from a heatsink manufacture to get a final price, but It should be around the 300W/$400 range including the driver and heatsink.

Ill also be making a 600W version that is two board instead of 6 available for $600 including the HLG-600 and required heatsink. It wont be a "1:1 replacement" for a 1000W DE HPS but it will be for a standard 1000W HPS. It will still put out 1,518PPF @ 600W. (I have a feeling this will sell quickly seeing how the HLG 550 (480W) is $1049 and puts out 1,178PPF.)

Hope they come back with a go with the shipping, would make everyone happy. It would also drop the required orders to around 100 instead of 500.

i use house and garden too. i have to add calmag and/or epsom salt or i get mag def. the thing is house and garden would say you don't need to do this. but you get def if you don't.

as someone who has only grown with HPS once and used a different nutrient line i can't speak to the differences.
