I need some advice getting my card

Hello! I have been researching on how to obtain my medical marijuana card but im just getting confused. See im a screen printer, have been since i was 14 years old. Im only 20 now but my lowers back hurts and upper shoulder area. My wrists are also in pain from time to time when i print manually. I currently reside in oregon....

And if anyone wants custom screen printing let me know lol just opened my own shop!

Thanks, phatnugget.

Look up The Hemp and Cannibus Foundation. They will walk you through the process. Very easy. If you have any assistance you get a break on the fees

does my pain qualify to get my card thoe? because i research these big medical conditions come up. And i hear about patients getting their card with little things.

not sure on how OR does it, but a state up in WA, the law says if you have intractable pain not helped by medications this qualifies you for the medical card... Easy as telling the doctor percocets dont work , and they make you sick and that you wanna try natural forms of medicine...Pay the doctor and your done.

Now here the doctor can take your own medical records showing your injury, complaint and treatments and it will cost you less, but if you never been to a hospital or a clinic for your back and shoulders, the doctor who writes your script can do a physical and get medical records started, at a higher fee.

states you must have a debilitating medical condition in para 5, goes on to say what can be claimed as debilitating. Such as severe pain ; para 5 B.

Now the kicker is what form of diagnose do they have for pain? A little chart that you point at....So just tell them it hurts so damn bad, use the word debilitating pain ;) but really TBH The whole medical marijuana deal is just a business and the doctors wanna make money...Give them some cash and a oh my back hurts you will get it no problem.

thanks! i just wanna go in there confidence. because not knowing if it qualifies or not makes me nervous.

Thanks a lot.

When I got mine NO ONE was turned down. IMO it is a natural alternative to pharmasudicals. PhatNugget is right they make money from you. If you don't qualify no money. The state is also making money as well.

Your best bet is this....you will qualify under pain, first of all. You go to your MD at least 2 times complaining of your pain that you feel. Have them document the pain in your chart notes each time you go. They can even prescribe some pain killers for you for the time being, but the idea is that you are getting your medical records in order for OMMP.

Once you have 2 doctors visits within a short time documented, you no longer need your doctor to prescribe anything. If they do not want to prescribe marijuana, and you have the info documented on your chart notes, then you need to take those chart notes to someone else.

For me, the "someone else" was MAMA. You can take your chart notes and any other medical records you have, have MAMA look over them, and they will tell you straight up whether they can help you get a card. They have a doctor on site, and if you have the chart notes, they can help you. They usually will not even make an appointment for you unless your records justify getting a card. That way, you do not spend any money paying MAMA unless they can get you a card.

They are very nice people down there, and very busy. I suggest you call them ASAP to get the ball rolling. THCF is another clinic that does the same thing, from my understanding.

I may be one of those unusual cases. I have had 2 sugeries for degenerative spinal disease. I am prescribed 100+ percosets every month. I take so many painkillers I fear my liver, kidneys, and heart wont take it. So I got my card. Although it is fairly easy to get your card, you do have to jump through a certain amount of hoops. If you call in advance they will tell you what you need to come up with in order to complete everything in just one visit.

Yea you have to jump through their hoops but hang in there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it is worth it.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone. I just moved to pdx about 2 months ago from far nor cal & I am also looking to get legal up here.

It's so damn easy getting it in cali, all it takes is for me to go to MediCann, fill out some paperwork, tell them my knee hurts (which it does), they write me another 12 month note, and I'm out the door in 10-15 minutes, going to a club to pick up some meds immedietly after. When I'm looking at how to get it here, it's really like jumping through hoops, as others said. I guess cali is the outlaw-experiment (and I can assure you, it is 100% wild-west outlaw territory in the weed game in cali) state, and no other states want their MMJ program like that hah.

I haven't even had a doctors visit in 3 years for my problem (because in cali the proscribing dr's don't give a fuck really about that stuff haha), looks like I gotta find a primary here in pdx and start going. And I'm not sure how I feel about the state knowing where my grow location is either, thats some completely new territory for me. But hey, I'd much rather be legal just in case.

I also live in Cali and am going to be moving to Portland area in the next few months. I have my card (here in ca), which again is very easy to get. I'm currently unemployed so I don't have health insurance so it made perfect sense for me to get my card and grow, talk about cheap meds, very nice.
So when I move to Oregon I probably won't have health insurance, will that slow me down from getting my medical card??? Also are there dispenseries or do you have to grow your own? I ask in case I run out before I can harvest a new grow. Thank you in advance stay high.

Just make sure you get your chart notes from your 2-3 most recent visits to your doctor. It does not matter what state those are from, just take those chart notes to MAMA, a clinic that will help you navigate the OMMP, for a fee.

As for dispensaries, there are some around town, where you can pick up meds. They are kind of a grey area in the law, but they have been here for a while. Cannabliss is one, and Cannabis Cafe is the other. From what I understand, Cannabliss has better meds. Overall, you can grow for yourself, and you should.

Good luck.

That's part of the problem, haven't been to a physician in over 10yrs, I went to a foot specialist for orthopaedic inserts, I got flat feet hence the back problems, I don't have a regular physician. Hm, this might be harder than I thought... well haz thnx for your info, on this thread and others, I can't tell if people like you or not, lol but, I think your cool and I think you got your shit together, at least from what I've read in a few of these threads. Maybe I'll see you at the club when I do finally get out there. Stay high.

Thanks for the compliment, man....I think...lol. Yes, you have to get your med records in order here in Oregon. Sounds like you have some work cut out for you. As for whether people like me or not......lol.....Most of the people that do not like me on RIU are people who are constantly negative nancies. Some of those people do not like that I will argue for growers AND patients alike. So be it. You cannot please everyone.

I am really enjoying the Oregon section right now, simply because most of the negative nancies have been called on it, and it has become fairly obvious who is doing something to help, and who just bitches......haha. At least when I bitch, you know I am thinking of solutions to help.....haha. All in good fun.

And yes, I hope to see you here in Portland sometime......although, I am not often at the clubs these days. The clubs for me, are places where I can try different strains, and get an idea of what I like and do not like, before I order seeds. It can also be a place to go right before harvest to get a taste of something different.

i dont think random pains should qualify you, unless it is severe and documented not cuz you wanted the card but because you HAD to see the doc. im all for legal pot but with the way things are now people are getting it for nothing and then abusing it.

You also can look at it as if the Medical uses for pot are overstated and we need to get away from pot being "medical" only unless you want Pfizer to own the rights to it eventually.
