I need recommendations on some grow lights for an indoor tent!

I need some recommendations on a light for an indoor garden! A good light that is affordable and enough to give optimal light for up to 2+ plants in a 48”x24”x60” grow tent.

I hate 2x4 tents. The only lights the cover the area evenly is bar leds or t5 florecents. Most lights have a more square footprint. If you have 300 you can spend get 2 150w cmh hung abought a foot apart

If you go florecent i would use a 6 lamp 4 ft t5. Replace the t5 lamps with the led t5 replacments.

I'm preferring a 2.5'x5' nowadays, but I actually really like the shape of the footprint because I can reach the back of the tent from the front haha. My preferred light source is a 320XL from HLG, so it fits that space nicely. Gonna run two of these spaces with staggered harvests eventually (right now I have a 2x4, and one 2.5x5. I want to replace the 2x4)

I use 2x HLG QB288V2 in a 2x4 on their own single heat sinks.
2 boards on the triple heat sink would be about the same spacing as what I have
QB288 optimal flower footprint is 2x2

Many single cobs like optic1 & Migro also also have 2x2 footprint

Do those actually produce? I like vegging under a T5 given the right bulbs. Nice compact plants with tight node spacing.
No idea lol never used them but i saw some third party testing with 6 different t5 lamps including the powerveg by hortilux and the led lamp SMASHED every other t5 in terms of ppfd with less wattage. Ran a single 2 ft t5 led replacment over a 25 site cloner and it did well but that sais nothing about how the plants grow and bloom under them.

I wouldn't bloom although some do. In fact i only veg for a few weeks under them at most waiting for veg space under HPS. Then they stretch a lot depending on strain. Before flower. This is where node spacing comes in for me. I top 3 times and supercrop.

The lower branches I only clone and only in flower.

54 watt High Output T5's work fine. Most decent T5 grow lights take the 54 watt bulbs. Mine does and it works great for veg. 216 watts with a four bulb. Great for veg and seedlings.

Naturally a lot of light sources can beat t5s even the more efficient t8s with ppfd, suffice to say that the spectrum of the more exspensive phosphors beat the shit out of puny led gapped up spectrum hands down. Possibly why for years now we have rocked them in veg tents.

No consideration for any real world knowledge dude...

Aquarium users have long known the more exspensive phosphors do a damn good job atimitating the full spectrum of sunlight, this is the natural difference between those cheap office types and the more exspensive aquarium flourescents.

I use arcadia for my bulbs, freshwater, tropical and plant growth but freshwater is all you need.

The tri phosphor means a peak in the red green and blue and a bit of all the spectrums in between. An awesome choice for those that want quality and not just hype.

The surface area plus reflected light of a t5/t8 gives out a lot of light and many have seen it to be a very close perfect plant growth spectrum and fish burds etc etc for decades.

There ya go being a troll again. 1St just said i never ived them so ya way to go captian obvious.
On the other hand i have never seen a comercial op use t5 for veg. I have seen them use leds. So with no no experience with them just going by what the pros do i would veg under led before i would florecent

But you get to troll everything with your false ppfd claims...

You are slowly learning that the growth from flouros is far superior than their ppfds i hope becquse you trolls need to stop polluting this site with simple ppfd hype :-)

Fuck you probably learnt somthing after reading whqt i said about phosphor, go on its all on wiki!

Third party test of 5t lamps showing not just ppfd but spectrial análisis. The led tube is almost double the ppfd. Now i know that ppfd isnt the be all and and all here but neither is spectrium. It takes both. The sience finding the perfect combination is far from conclusive all anyone can do is experiment. You arnt a troll because of you openion on phosperous. Its because your snide comment saing i have no consideration for real world knowledge. A comment made only to piss someone off. How would you react if you were told that. I respect your opinión. Agree with you on many things. I know you study and do your homework. I do the same basing my OPENION on studies i have read and on non bias testing. Your disrespectfull whenever someone disagrees with you. Thats why i call you a troll.

yes a comment made to pissoff those that spread the rubbish here.

long before you lot and leds we were having these conversations but now led trolls have set the site back ten years with their ppfd rubbish.

Eventually consideration will be given for all but ppfd, thats merely a light measurement and has no consideration for actual biology such as photoreceptors and yeild in the real world.

So ya i do what i want and grow good enough to make these comments as a long term member that certainly at no point bought into led ppfd trolling here.

Site was better pre led and we did a lot more and learnt a lot more, why do you have a problem with an old member like me i wonder? Was it because most of you hit this site clearly citing led troll rubbish which you now try to reverse on me hmmmmm....!

I've seen lots of commercial grows + clone dealers using T5's for vegging clones...
How many commercial grows have you been in?
Opinions are like an asshole, every1 has one + they all stink.

You have no consideration for real world knowledge or any recent advances in the sience of plant lighting.

Yep cloning under t5s

Damn, these threads regarding lights always go south. I could give a damn about what light saves a watt, ppfd, blah blah blah... I've been using the same 4ft 4 bulb HO T5 for years. Works great for vegging, starting clones, seedlings, etc... Is there a better light for these purposes? Probably. Do I need to go out and buy it? No. I'm trying to grow weed not spend money and I'm doing a good job at it with a T5 and then flowering under a 600 watt HPS. It's old school but it works. This isn't rocket science it's growing a plant.
