its really up to you about cutting the leavse off, some people cut them off at harvest and some wait until its dried. just make sure your room is completely dark and your temps are between 65-70 degrees. you wanna kill off all that nasty tasting chlorophyll

trim off all the fan and larger bud leafs but its ok to leave a little leaf on there

hang dry upside down in the dark untill the stems snap instead of bend, then put them in jars for atleast 2 weeks burping daily and stirring the buds every few days

either way. i always do a preliminary trim to get almost all of the leaves. you can use the leaves for hash, food or vape.

If u don't cut the leaves, it will take a lil bit longer to cure, because of the moisture in the leaves
I understand it to be if your drying room is of lower humidity or higher temp than usual (50% humidity, 70 degrees being nominal) than you want the leaves to provide moisture to slow the drying process down. You want a steady, slow dry. IMO

oo I hadn't even thought of using trim for vape
I guess I will try grinding up some trim and throwing it in my 2nd generation iolite when it shows up (getting a 2nd generation replacement on a 1st gen unit under warranty woot :P)

I ended up drying my first harvest too quickly, I think it was mostly a temperature problem but they hit that 25% of wet weight mark after 2 days :(

Cut off the large leaves but don't touch the smaller ones around the buds. As the small leaves dry they curl around the bud and help protect it...then they make good hash. To slow the process (if this is really a concern) rig a cardboard box for the dry proces: punch holes in opposite sides and run string through the box tying knots on the outside of the box to secure. Hang the stems on the string. You can fit several lines in one box. In past grows the box dry took 3 weeks or more while a "naked" dry was up to 2 weeks, I recommend naked. DRY THEM COMPLETELY. A little crispy is good because when you put them in jars to cure, the tiny bit of moisture left will be just enough to result in a nice firm bud...and reduce the chance of mold. Save a few pieces of stem and thow one in the jar overnight if you feel the buds got too dry; orang or lemon peel works also. Too moist gets you mold while too dry can be fixed.
