im pretty sure if you have everything out, a good place to start would be cleaning the place with bleach?

They say that the "No Pest Strips" work for mites, so maybe they'll work for you? Get a couple and hang them up. Close the room for a few days. That should fix the problem.

I had a minor mite problem and I pulled everything out and sprayed the floors and walls with neem. Worked for me. Neem might be another option.

If you are in soil, cover the soil with about an inch of sand from the hardware store. The sand doesn't bother the plants but will kill the gnat larvae as they try to climb through it. This tip is from Zandor of The Grow Report podcast and dude knows his stuff. If you are in Hydro you'll need a pesticide.

yeah they seem to crawl around the soil, and then fly around, they chewed all my big fan leaves, i am going to be using coco on my next grow as aposed to soil which i did use, can they live in the coco like they can in soil???

You give them a moist place to live and they will grow anywhere. You need to cut down the watering and only water when the first 2 inches are dry. Set a small fan so it blows across the tops of the pots gently and that will help dry out the top. You can also spray with Nee oil, drench the soil with the mixture. Here is a good article on Neem

you will fine lots of good stuff here

u can try pesticedes that wont work, or you can take 2-3 inches of playsand and cover the topsoil with it... and choke the lil bastards out ;)

you can also buy some yellow sticky strips at the big box store they work and you can see them working. If you only have a few their not that serious threat to your plants.
