i need a MMJ expert for this one

i have been using marijuana for medical purposes to treat my severe hyperhidrosis (palmar and plantar) for about 3 years. i know this is not a traditional application but it is the only thing that provides ANY relief. i really want to grow this year but i ran into a problem. some strains are better suited than others so i need a strain expert to help me out, but first let me tell you about my health.

hyperhidrosis- uncontrollable purfuse sweating at the hands and feet example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvgHDX5u444

the condition is caused by my Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (chain of nerves in spinal cord) malfunctioning and telling me to sweat all the fucking time. i have been on at least 10 different meds for it with no success whatsoever, except weed.
the sweat stops in places/states of extreme relaxation (cactus, anyone?)

i need a strain that would probably be best suited for SEVERE anxiety but preferably reduces nausea and doesnt make me tired. i need to be able to function and work on paperwork and focus.

if any strain comes to mind as a perfect medical strain for this application, please dont hesitate to post it up here. this condition may seem trivial to some but it is very serious and debilitating and has really dragged my life in the mud and i need any relief i can get. thx in advance and smoke one

unfortunately, strains that are good for anxiety, also knock you silly, having the anxiety problem myself, I try to go for indicas and indica dominant hybrids.

on the other hand some sativas can be very uplifting and make you feel much more talkative and chatty while not associated with the lethargic qualities. I think it's really personal preferance what you prefer. A lot of people like to smoke sativas during the day and indicas late at night. I would recommend something like flow or a lighter less potent sativa like durban. I think it's really subtle right? When I smoke sativas especially but really any premature bud it actually makes me very nervous and amped and has the opposite effect of what your looking for. I think any bud that has a potent enough high for you and is pleasing to senses is really enough to put your soul at ease no matter if it's blueberry or haze.

this i can deal with. what about any particular strains that stand out as an indica "1 hit quitter"

it needs to be a very potent smoke. i have to get HAF (high as fuck, im sure you know the feeling) for the medicinal properties to kick in. anxiety does make the sweat worse, but i dont actually have any anxiety problems at all, only hyperhidrosis. the sweat will not stop at all until i reach a point of HAF (cant drive, etc) so the smoke needs to be potent. if the smoke i energizing, i will sweat more. i think an indica would be perfect if i could find one that was very potent, and relaxing but not to the point where i am falling asleep.

what about if i had knockout strain, but countered it with some kind of herbal energy stuff (no caffeine or or anything that would increase sweat) any ideas?

keep em comin everyone!:bigjoint:

I've never personally smoked it, but Kali Mist might fit the bill. It's a sativa, has an almost narcotic effect that still leaves you socially aware and able to move. Hobbes did an excellent write up on it in the smoke reports forum a couple of months ago. Here's what he said:

.

Kali Mist - Serious Seeds

I've always had trouble getting strains to finish on time so taking on a 14 week strain was daunting for me, my KM clones usually finish about 16 weeks hydro/17 weeks soilless. It grows easily but stretches incredibly in hydro, I had a 1.5" clone that ended up close to 36". In soilless stretch is not so bad, but its still a sativa stretch. The buds are loose and airy in hydro and are so encrusted with trichomes that they seem that they would break if bent. The soilless buds are tighter and not as crusty. Fox farm liquids and solubles, hygrozome, Dark Energy, Liquid Karma, Kool Bloom, Overdrive.

The high is ... delisious. It's so beautiful and pleasant that I crave it more than the other strains and go through this strain at a record pace. It's a floaty dreamy high, like an up narcotic. Nothing maters, everything is OK. It reminds me of when I had my elbows operated on and got a hundred percocet with each operation. Like an opiate nothing is wrong, but I can do things, not just sit and look out the window. I use 2 of 12 spots in my garden for Kali Mist and I may add another two spots.

I find myself very forgeful high on Kali Mist, and I know it while I'm high and I don't care. Just now I'm keeping my dogs seperated because of an operation one had, the second dog got by me twice (under my desk - 3' wide hole) and I didn't notice for a half hour each time.

The smell and taste is a beautiful strong spice, I can smell it everytime I crack the jar, and I've had my nose broken a few times so I don't smell so good. But after a shower I can smell this stuff, very strong. After a 4 week hang/bag/cure vaporizing gives an incredibly smooth vapor, very thick Volcano bags with 1/3 level teaspoon.

This isn't a trippy or a knock out of reality high but it's very stong. I've read it described as a cutting high, right through other strains and moods, and I agree.

.

Spectrums of experience

Onset: fast effect or creeper. 1 fast/5 slow: 2

I've just taken 3 hits and can feel a tingle everywhere and pressure in the top of my head and ears.

.

1. Up (stimulating) and Down (sedative): Neither.

Liven the disposition and stimulate the emotions: encourages a love of existance.
Inspiring sociability and talkativeness: You could stand just about anybody on this high.
Sedative and depressant effects: Chill but not sedative. If you want to do things you can, but you have to make a small initial effort to overcome inertia.

.

2. Head High / Body Stone: mostly head.

Energizing: Not energizing but not couch lock.
Motivating: Frees inhibition but there is inertia to overcome.
Couch lock: No, see above.

.

3. Tolerance: ability to provide the same experience via the same amount over time – the burnout factor. "Over time" means the long run: months, years, decades...

I've been vaping Kali Mist for 4 or 5 months and the high seems to be getting better, probably because I'm getting better at growing and curing it, but the high is better 4 months later. No chasing the Dragon.

.

4. Ceiling: How high (of far) one is capable of going with the variety. How many hits can be consumed until more hits are unnoticeable.

I notice a ceiling, but it takes a few Volcano bags.

.

5. Emotional State

Anxiety: melts anxiety, nothing is wrong.
Euphoria: not so much euphoria as bliss.
Calm: very calming
paranoia: reduces or eliminates paranoia.

.

6. Body - medicinal effects

Nausea: mild help
Pain: fair help
Seizures: not known
Back: fair help

.

7. Head - medicinal effects

Depression: works like a dreamy opiate
Mania: calming
Anxiety: good help
Antisocial: you could tolerate anyone high on this strain.
Anger: calming.
Rage: From first hand experience, this strain has saved some lives. Medicinal help.

.

8. Duration short 1 2 3 4 5 long: 3

Two consecutive Volcano bags will last two hours.

.

9. Potency: weak 1 2 3 4 5 strong: 4. Hit's hard but not time loosing nor reality knocking out of. Cutting dreamy high.

.

10. Taste: SPICE

.

Overall just a great strain, if you've got room for a 14 week sativa and want a dreamy high I couldn't recomend Serious Kali Mist higher.

I'm not an expert but try ingesting some different strains. Make some canna-butter and then infuse that into cookies, etc. There is a different affect from ingestion vs. inhilation... just another thing to consider. Good luck!

I've heard Strawberry Cough is GREAT for people with anxiety. I have a past of panic attacks and anxiety disorders so I'm definitely growing some this season.

Ah u are in a sticky one, because the ones that really calm u down and lock off the body into this meditative state ( i use it for ). are the kushs!!! Like hindu kush, however these make you tired - which you dont want.

Where as the sativas make u talkative and up but can be quite weird for people and bring on anxiety (for me i dont like that for several reasons )

And the mixed strains might just not do enough of easy the body into the meditative strain or might do too much and induce tiredness ( on kush side ) or too much on sativa...

its tricky i say u really just gotta try different things because shit will either work or not and u are the only one who can really judge that.

One another note have u tried chinese remedies and health places they normally have teas and exercises for all sorts of things.

yes i think you are right about just having to try different things. i tried some hindu kush (indoor) for the first time a couple weeks ago at a party. it had great medicinal value for me and despite being an indica didnt really make me tired. the high was awesome, i was so mellow and relaxed but active and clear-headed at the same time.

i think ive pretty much decided to go with indica/ mostlyindica due to my climate (hot, airid), because i want to grow outside. i appreciate everyone's info on this thanks:bigjoint:

i have tried some oriental/traditional remedies such as sage topical ointment and unfortunately have found no relief.

check out mandala's strains. they are cheap and have F1 landrace genetics. Absolutely no anxiety, racing heart; good for focus and daytime energy.

heres a link to their website http://www.mandalaseeds.com

heres a link to a website i buy their seeds from http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/mandala-seeds/cat_59.html

edit: mandala strains are very heat resistant; i suffer from social anxiety disorder and these strains are very potent and leave me without anxiety and ready for social activity.

always great to hear from someone with personal experience. this may seem silly but wtf is a F1 landrace?

on mandalas website it just says that their genetics are F1 hybrids made from landrace genetics from the middle east and surrounding areas, which makes them resistant to heat stress and mold.

First, let me kiss Hobbes' ass too, I love his tincture explorations, especially his write up on Kali Mist is 100% accurate. I'm bipolar, interestingly enough I also understand uncontrollable sweating. I would've recommended Kali Mist first as well. It's a very theraputic sensation yet also very functional... unless you're operating heavy machinery. :bigjoint:

I've been looking at Mandala's Satori, been meaning to ask if anyone knows if this is a good alternative to Serious' Kali Mist. From Attitude I'm looking at around $50 for Mandala's vs. around $150 for Serious'.

based on that kali mist write up it sounds perfect but its just so expensive for seeds. i was leaning more toward the mandala mix (20 seeds for 30 bucks) because i have always wanted my very own strain so what ever seeds i get will also be for breeding. the strain will be called Storm.

what does F1 mean?
what does landrae mean?

on a scale of 1-10, what would you say the potency of mandala strains is?

if you are going for potency go with satori. if you are a casual med user or smoker you should use a speed queen or mandala #1 as i find these fit well in my day time smoke medicines. Satori left all the for 50% amber almost will do the job for a night time med. But i usually go stronger to help with insomnia and active mind and restlessness you need the strongest possible mj for that. Something like deep purples make you so tired you really cant do anything but sleep... but i prefer white russian or sensi star. i find sensi star makes you beyond tired if you leave it a little longer. Deeeep sleep yes its nice. i missed my sleep so much. =)

oh i also forgot to say the scale of 1-10 . and 10 being the highest 1 being the lowest averaging all their strains that i personally have tried i rate it a 7.

Yeah the hindu kush will keep ur head clean and meditate ur body. And u may find when u grow it when u harvest it at slightly different times has different effects like the stage of trichome development ( clear/amber ) u go for clear im sure it will be better or with me thats all its not that OH SHIT IM STUCK TO THE SOFA BUT I CAN STILL THINK.

peace and have fun whatever u do!
