I need a little assistance in a new LED build

I'm looking to replace the blurples in my veg room with a strip build. I had no issues with my last DIY, but I'm not very good at matching drivers, heat sinks, which strips to buy, CTT, CRI, ...etc. I need to cover 2x 5' x 5' area. This is strictly a dedicated mother/veg/clone room.

maybe checkout some bridgelux eb3 slim 1190mm.

Theyre only 15$ and you wont even need U channels @ 700mA.

For only veg a HLG 185 could do it, alternatively a HLG 240.
A HLG-185H-C700 should be able to drive up to 8 1190mm strips @ 35.5V by 8 = 284V.
Voltage will be quite high, while i dont see a huge problem with that, a parallel driver works of course also.
With aluminium u channels, you should be easily able to drive them with 1050mA also.
So 5 Strips could be enough then and its "only" about 180V.

Why bridgelux over Samsung? I was looking at these 2 and can't decide which is better. https://www.digikey.com/products/en/optoelectronics/led-lighting-cobs-engines-modules-strips/111?k=&pkeyword=&sv=0&pv1614=51&pv46=37435&sf=0&FV=ffecf8a8&quantity=&ColumnSort=0&page=1&pageSize=25

I should also mention I'm using Greengene's photo boost strip build as a reference.
Are you in the Us?

I'd choose the photo boost strips over sammies or bridgelux if I had that option. I'm Canadian and gene don't ship to Canada I don't think.

Cutter also sells some very high end strips, using nichia leds. @welight

Edit: just noticed the part where these will be veg lights. My bad. I'm sure there's cheaper options for veg lights than the photoboost or nichias. Honestly if I were gonna build a veg light I'd probably just buy the bxeb gen 2s.... they are very cheap now with the release of the gen 3s and they appear to veg/grow plants perfectly fine

This is just for veg and mothers. I need 4000k and those fucking photo strips are on back order all the time.

Ya i edited my post, i musta missed that bit of important info when i read your op the first time lol

Id love to get my hands on some of the photoboost, but as you say, they always seem to be on back order, plus it would be a hassle trying to get them shipped to me here in Canada.

nothing wrong with those, but theyre only 560mm, EB3 slim1190mm looks to be nicer for your 5 feet long space.
Bridgelux is simply the most price efficient option i think, not much EB2 avaiable anymore.
Arrow have a few left it looks.

my above calc is slightly wrong, the EB3 slim 1190 should be 38.2v @700mA.
So a HLG 185 700C drive 7 strips.
When you have a decision for a strip post it and we verify it.

How you will mount these, is anything allready avaiable?

so the bridgelux EB2 1120mm would be a direct fit for your 2 heatsinks you allready have?
Have no access to those kind of heatsinks.

Then maybe EB2 from arrow and driving them a bit higher while getting a few more of those heatsinks.

All depends a bit on what you want, so far i aim for a budget soultion here as i dont see sense to spend too much on a dedicated veg light.

Money doesn't matter to a point and I want the perfect veg light.

then i would go with more strips, better coverage.
Also a HLG240 should give some more headroom.
Would still choose EB3, their 4000k with 200 lpw @ 700mA isnt bad at all.

Would the 1190mm slim version fit on your heatsink, or to long?
2 EB3 slim with 590mm would be "only" 1180.

HLG-240H-C1050 with 6 EB3 1190 slim 4000k @ 1050mA, one option, plenty light, need dimming.
Otherwise EB2 or some Sammies, some new Samsung horti strips would be cool, but not out yet.

I'd go with 4000K build that doesn't need heat sinks and uses one LED driver. All the panels are wired in parallel. About 600 watts covering 25 sq.ft. yields about 24 watts/sq.ft. and 37 watts/panel. I think that's enough for clones/veg/mother builds. This build pumps 0.67A thru each panel. Max panel wattage is 75w and that would require a current of 2.08A.

I'd get a HLG-600H-36B driver $180.55

I like the QB132 v1 (four panels per order) Buy 4 packs (4x$109 = $436) to get 16 panels to spread over your 5'x5'. The QB132 v2 cost $135 per 4 pack. The v2 boards would take to save you $ on your electric bill - take a while for savings to accumulate above $100.

Theses QB132 boards are light weight and there is a RUI member who posted pictures of their build's framework made with 1" PVC plumbing piping.

Here's some QB132 builds https://www.google.com/search?q=qb132+build&sxsrf=ACYBGNSLOG4JHxQxtlBufnLQEdTPhAzCJA:1569164221872&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwizsKeg2OTkAhUGnOAKHd92CBoQ_AUIEygC&biw=1920&bih=937

Four Qb132s series build with a HLG 184-C1400 B with framework is a good choice too. You'd need four of them 4x$52.66=$210.00 https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/MEAN-WELL/HLG-185H-C1400B?qs=%2BmCJZPMmHFNyZddMqMvYFQ==&gclid=Cj0KCQjwt5zsBRD8ARIsAJfI4BgvnBMv_zF6oEDCK7Zqq_OkwrTABzVs2jfHLhTj3HpPSBO7tP58Vd0aAmtVEALw_wcB

You mean 16 panels to cover a 5' x 10' , right?

now i got you want to cover a 5x5 not a 2x5, haha.
How many watt per square feet you aim for? too much is simply too much.

QB boards are always a great option and you will get best bin samsung leds.
Just take care that you really get lots leds and spread them well.
Goin with one big driver could make sense, more efficient, may more inconvenient therefore, depends.

I would still use some 4 feet strips with the heatsinks you have there.

No I want to cover 2 different 5' x 5' tables. they will be at different heights because one is for moms and the other is for vegging clones.
