Okay so my neighbour mentioned to my mum that she could smell something weird at the back of the house, basically once or twice ive gone out and left my window open and the skunk in my blueberry plant's genetics must have got out lol
Anyway my mum was feeling a bit uncomfortable and said I might have to take it down, I respect that but I want to know if you guys think it would be a okay smoke if I did have to take it down in the next couple of days. it's in its 9th week of flower, and the info of the seeds said 8-9 weeks, so it should be coming to its end soon anyway? However its the triches I'm worried about. My microscope isnt really good enough to get a nice detailed look of them but It seems there's like hardly any ambers, I'd say about 5% :(
Luckily its been in flush for a week so if I did have to take it down soon that should help it be a clean smoke. Another thing I wanted to ask was not all the hairs are brown. The bottom and middle nugs seem to look mature, all brown hairs, ripe etc. but the big fat colas up the top seem to have more white hairs growing, If i did have to take it down, when it is drying and curing would these hairs turn brown? I dont really want buds with white hairs thats all.
I do have some photos here, for some reason they always come out sideways when I upload them so sorry about that, and also in its 7th week of flower it suffered minor nute burn and a problem with high pH, although it is solved now you will notice a lot of leaves have brownish marks and dont look to good, please look past that and focus on the buds please haha
Thanks.

Dont go by the hairs. Ive had a strain or 2 that wouldnt have more than 25% turn orange/red before it was ready to harvest.

They will turn colors once they dry/cure

Also now id be more worried about the smell of drying that plant.

It looks ready to go and worse case scenario it would just be really head high and less couch lock.

Id invest in a nice carbon filter and some candles/febreeze type shit. haha. Then you can keep the grow going in the future!

Good luck! those buds look mighty tastey even with the nute burn.

thanks man. yeah because I am only doing one I assumed I could get away with no filter and just ona blocks etc. Doesnt help it has skunk in the genetics though. In the future I will be doing more than one so I will be picking up a carb filter.
And yeah I know not go by the hairs I was just wondering if they would go brown. Im more concerned about the fact that theres hardly any amber triches, however I do like a good head high now and then, I shall see how it goes :)

I usually dont wait too long after ambers start somewhere around 5-10 % roughly.

thats just my preference. really gotta dial it in on the strain.

You want milky trichomes not amber. Amber la a sign that the thc degraded into cbn. You plant looks beautiful and done. It will REEL while drying.

You should really check out the Ona DIY bucket.. it's quite a masterpiece and kills even the strongest of smells if built to specifications. ONA concentrate, a pound of Soil Moist, a bucket, a roll of duct tape, and a fan that lines up with the top of the bucket and is easily removed from the base to make it easier to mount.. a drill and some patience - presto, you're done.

Agreed, remember that sometimes women will not exactly say what they want.. they will hint at it.. and it is also your Mom. That said, if she's hinted at it coming down - would be a wise idea to honor her requests before she gets upset and potentially tells you that you can not grow anything at all, at any point in the future.

Very nice plant, and I commend you on obeying Mom's wishes, and the fact that you had her consent to grow is awesome.

Agreed. And if something happened legally after she said that you can bet his ass won't hold shucks.

Guys I'm not sure why you are all telling me to respect my mother, obviously I do. She said take it down soon, I asked her if a couple of days is good enough and she its okay so..

My post wasn't telling you to, I was agreeing with Harley in his statement that you should listen to her - we have a few RIU people that could/would tell you to just let flowering go further (if it wasn't already done) and we'd rather not see you have issues with your mom is all :)

yeah thats cool man I was just seeing all these comments about me respecting my mother, and it seemed like everyone was thinking I wasn't respecting my mother even though she said I could keep it up for a few more days. I think tomorrow I'm going to leave it in the dark for 48 hours then harvest

Sounds like a plan, and can't wait to see what results - just make sure you go through proper dry and cure both, if you don't cure.. it may very well be a bit more harsh in smokability terms, but am sure you have a bit of experience under your belt in that fashion. Will definitely need a smoke report posted too, if you wouldn't mind that.. that is. :D
