I Know This is a Broad Question. Trust Me but...

your first grow is like the first time you drive a car; don't worry about how fast you WANT to go, worry about getting the car there safely.

on the same token, don't worry about what you're going to yield, worry about getting her there alive.

happy growing! ;)

^^^ THIS

listen to her. she has the knowledge you lack and are trying to achieve.

thanks for the endorsement there, toasty.

i didn't mean to come down all preachy, i've just seen a LOT of first timers disappoint themselves by thinking they're gonna be pedal-to-the-metal f1 drivers out the starting gate when in fact they're driving an automatic 3 cylinder around the parking lot, you know? (not that i'm suggesting you are, either.)
(my own first grow was -fucking embarrassing- from where i'm at now... bagseed in pots on the patio, they maybe got 1 or 2 of those fertilizer 'sticks' through the season lol)

some people do a grams per watt calculation, some do a grams per ounce of soil. the bottom line is that you're not going to be able to do either of those until you know what your own average baseline is, no matter which method you use. and, it gets even trickier because chances are your average is going to keep increasing as you get to know the plant better, yeah?

the good news is that those 2 poor neglected plants on the patio that summer yielded just under a half oz. of schwaggy popcorn, so if you're paying better attention to them than we were.... you do the math. ;)

yeah, like i said before, i dont expect much. just enough to pack a fat bowl and smoke my own shit :weed:

thanks again, people should learn from you on how to talk on a forum, especially to a first timer :eyesmoke:

i hate how some people are idiots on here. im also a new 1st time grower and have a ton a questions. its really weird but i noticed almost every 1st time grower that asks questions about their plant from start to finish, and the vet growers that are patiently helping them out, they end up jumping into the pool to help the newer growers out w/ their questions because they were there also and now they are growing their meds with ease.
but its really discouraging when off the bat you get a tool like cookies that has absolutely nothing to add to the thread give a responce like that. i know ismoke probably isnt expecting a HUGE harvest, but a ballpark would be nice. instead you get ppl like cookies that respond with "how do you get your plant to grow bigger? well kill yourself then use the embalming fluid as nutes"

so i just want to say thanks to all the people that are patient and help us new growers and thanks for hanging in there w/ us.

If I was you I wouldn't trim anything on an auto. When a fan leaf is shading a bud site either push it under another stem or tie it out of the way. I just got done with some more LST on mine. My autos now have 10-12 bud sites per plant. I'll head out there in a bit and see if I can take a few pics.

Are you going to LST? If not, you will end up with mainly 1 large cola and maybe a few buds here and there.
