well im just finishing up my first succesful grow and as i was thinking of the harvest an unusual question popped in my mind. When i harvest should i do some light trim (fan leaves) then let it dry then do the final trim before curing. Or should i just trim up everything let it dry then cure. Im reading the cannabis grow bible and when i read the harvesting chapter it says i could do either any body have any suggestions i know it seems like a little problem but i am confused both ways feel like they would work just fine

Trim it all my man. Trim close to the bud, throw out the fan leaves and save anything that looks like it's sticky so you can make hash. I do it all it once and get it over with. :hump:

righto trim it all and save it in a box or pot and make butter or hash with it. if you let the leaves dry out they become 10x trickier to trim off.

I actually find it faster to just use your hands and not scissors on most nugs. You can just take it in your hand and place your thumb across and then pull leaves up to your thumb with your other fingers and tear leaf after leaf off by moving your hand back and forth. Works great and keeps the scissor stress off your hands.

I like to leave a decent amount of bigger leaves on the plant, for the first couple days of hanging the plant. Even after you cut a plant, it is still converting internal materials (glucose/sugars) and working on its final stages of life. The buds seem to pull a little extra moisture from these leaves and it gives me leeway for a nice slow dry, and long cure. This slow proccess paysout some extremelly smoothe tasting and smelling buds.

If you trim it before you dry it, you may find the outside of your buds a little bit crispier then you'd like.. However if you check them frequently and get them in jars while they are still a little moist, it will still be golden. If they get to crispy just RIU search "Buds crispy", and I know their are some good threads that can help you.

Hope I could help,
My wishes, and best of luck mate <3

pull all the fan leaves at the bases of the buds.. and then trim or let it dry.. just make sure you get those fan leaves off, the smaller leaves will have a fair amount of crystals and wont be too bad.

if you want to have good bag appeal i would suggest pulling all fan leaves off by hand, and a few of the bigger leaves on the buds as well, and trim the rest, this will give you a presentable bud with minimal leaves and their stems.

if you think it will affect the weight here is an idea, i left a bud with alot of leaves dry out, and weighed it out at .9 grams, after the weigh in i pulled all of the visible leaves off and the only difference in weight was .1 grams.. and looked WAY better, it looks cleaner, surprisingly smells cleaner (less of that greeny / grassy smell, more weed smell) and there are many more visible crystals

i hope this helps.. and i suggest you do a thorough trim, and dont be scared to manhandle those buds lol.. some people that help me trim dont want to squeeze them too hard or touch the actual bud.. but theres nothing that can really fuck it up now.. so FUUCK IIT!

I cut any fan leaf with a visible stem at harvest time, let them dry, and trim a little closer when I put the buds in the curing jar. I don't worry a lot about shaggy looking buds, it's stash.

Plus, if you have a vape, those small leaves will get you just as buzzed as the nugget itself, with no taste issues.
