I live in an apartment and now that the outdoor season is here my relative has given me permission to grow on his yard, is that okay to do even though I don't live there?

It is ok ONLY if you have that relative listed as your primary care provider. then yea he can have as many plants and as much cured bud as what the state law allows you to have. Just make sure you get him listed first.

So I can't just leave my DR recommendation posted in front of my plants? My license has this address is can that prevent me from having to get him as my caregiver, I know he wouldn't get a DR recommendation, that's why.

In cali you are allowed 2 caregivers(generally one reletive and the other your local club) but if it is his property and you do not live there make him a caregiver. All you have to do is fill out a sheet to do it.
