so this is my first cannabis grow, I've been growing mushrooms for a lil over a year now, and decided to start a cannabis grow and see jsut how well my green thumb is ;)

any ways my plants are about 4-5 weeks old and stand around 10 inches or so at the moment. this morning i waterd my plants and went back to bed, to my surprise when I woke up I checked on my girls (hope there girls :P) and I looked at my soil and it seems where the sun hit the soil most I could see these little white things jumping around they almost look like dust particles floating in the sun light but the are NOT, I examined closer and it is some kind of little white bug that jumps around, could any one help me to identify and get rid of these lil bastards before some thing happens to my girls? thanks guys for all your information.

I cant see any thing on my leaves, no bugs, no discoloring or markings ( at least as of yet) the only place i see these lil bastards hopping around is in the soil only where there is direct sunlight. there seems to be no bugs jumping when the sun light is not directly hitting the pot. what would these things be!?!?!?!!?

Also I am using soil = 1/3 miracle grow 3 month nutrient, 1/3 saphagen peat moss, and 1/3 vermiculite. I have not used any nutes yet. only thing in my soil is what I have listed, thanks.

white or a sliver white,

whitefly maybe, but they fly,(the only bug ive had problems with, that jump are spring-tails. ) but only short distance, are they making a light buzzing noise, is there any damage to the plant. have you checked with a mag glass, they can leave behind like a juice that can cause mold to, you need to identify the bug or at least post some more info or a pic of the bug or damage.

so far there is no damage i can see with the eye, and there is NO way to get a pic of the bug they are TINY and look white from what i can see but they are literaly smaller then the eye can really see, you can only see them when the sunlight hits the soil and there jumping around.

those are spring tails. if you check your run-off, you'll really be able to see them. they will float at the top and skitter around. no reason to freak though. spring tails will do no damage, and are actually beneficial. they like to eat dead/dying/decaying plant matter, so they keep things clean.
