Pants don't eat sugar, it is for feeding supplementary beneficial bacteria, so if you do not give them to your plants then you are wasting 100% of your cash and you will be feeding nasty bacteria like pythium that will ruin your crop overnight.
Try using what you put in your coffee. Might save you a few bux, even if it doesn't come with a fancy label and confusing instructions.
