This is my first grow and i am just kind of experimenting and i got a 100 watt cfl light i know not enough light but it doesnt put out much heat, is that a good thing or a bad thing? because i dont know does marijuana need heat from the light?

believe it or not some heat is good! when the sun hits the leaves and warms them up it speeds up the transpiration process, which is how plants move nutrient rich water from the soil up to the new growth. you could imagine the leaves as a sort of active wick...

a little heat and a little wind is like a super charger for the plant's metabolic processes. :)

check the box ur light bulb came in see how many lumens it produces the sun produced 10,000 lumens per sq ft and u wanna try to get as close as that as possible but if ur going for a CFL grow try to get the cool-white lightbulbs so it doesnt produce so much heat causing heat stress

you can also compensate for a "cool" light source by letting the room temp get warmer.
