So I have about $5k saved for my garage set-up, im building the garage now have about 2 weeks left, im gonna build a stud frame inside and cover it with reflective material. Its a 20x20 garage so im hoping to utilize the max space.

im thinkin about 60 plants in that area. I dont know how many lights to buy, im going soil only, with a small mother room, but mostly a bloom room, lol i have 2 windows in the garage one fake, one legit, i wanna put a window A/C unit so i can keep my temp at a desired degree.

Im not sure on what nutrients to use, FF ocean forest is what im leaning to, and go along with the whole FF nute line. Im going from clone, maybe a few different strains, not sure yet on whats available. If not i have back-up seeds available.

So if you have any ideas, suggestions, comments, or questions dont hesitate to ask. im not sure on what kind of lights(brand) i should get, or what kind of air purifier, and im not sure on what nutes im gonna use. Thanks for all your help.

how bout a few(2 3 0r even 4) 400w hps and a few light movers would be good. circulation and air filtration are a must so invest in some fans and some filter exhaust system. i like fox farm too and hear good things about there line of nutes

if your planing on a 60 plant grow it would be best to have variety, so i would get a few seeds of good strains and take many clones from those plants.

mind if i do a little hypothetical?

lets say you section your growspace into 3 areas; a small mother plant and clones room a veg room and a flower room. it would be best to have a wide variation in the age of the plants so as smoe finish others take there place

you got to think about what size your final pot is going to be 60 of them going to take up alot of space, if it was me i would be looking at 6 600w hps lights and see how i get on but im no expert havent done 1 that big before lol, but i have allways had good results with bio bizz all mix soil using bio bizz nuts so if it was me i would use them again but opinions vary.

does it matter if it stinks? the window unit a/c's are great for cooling but keep in mind they also exhaust air too. if you don't care how much you spend on power then use nothing but vertical 1000w hps bulbs and grow trees.

thats exactly my plan, i want a continous cycle going while one finishes another is on its way,, thanks for all your inputs.

definatly a good idea if you have that must space around you will shorten time on each harvest in the future

5000 is alot of money for a setup i would think. But fox farm is all i use and never had a problem with it at all. Just spend wisely and you will come out on top and if your going to get it all from the same place and your spending that amount ask for some kind of discount lol.

The first real question is your garage wired to handle the kind of power you will need for an operation that size? Do you have any equipment already? $5,000 isnt that great of a budget for a room that size, but it is still kinda workable. I would start pricing it out for 4 1k's done vertical or 6-8 600w's in reflectors on a light mover. For that many plants you will definetly want fresh water piped into the garage and I hope you had it insulated. I am happy to help with any aspect of designing your room, but need more info from you., I have already built my room and 3 others all with great results. Heres a few shots of mine to give you an idea of how I do things. Mine is much smaller than your plans, but I was working with the space I have.

Hey bro,

Judging by your post, I assume you haven't grown too much in the past.

You know, people here can tell you some great advice, but its hard to tell what advice is worth listening to.

With that said, I would suggest you ease into in slowly, don't buy pallets of soil, 10 grow lights, and so forth. Buy one or two lights, one or two fans, a filter, and test the equipment out before you buy an assload.

Trust me, if you do that, a year from now, you'll know EXACTLY what you want (don't forget, what you want may not always line up with what you need)

Don't worry, 5k well spent will net you a fine grow system. For example, what if you buy 5 ballasts and find out later on, they don't hold up well, you would've been better off buying just one of those, running it for a year, see if you like it, then expand the operation.

Call it whatever you want, but a grow op the size you're aiming for is considered a small commerical operation, you could potentially make a living doing it. That's not hobby growing, so just invest you money, don't spend it. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt and discover first hand what works and what doesn't.

It took me about 5 attempts to finnish my final shopping list bcuz u realise the one u earlier did something half-hearted or u simply chose the wrong stuff that didnt fit or could be better, in which order ventilation should work etc.

Sit down and plan for many hours, how many watts u will spend, i guess its 20x20 feets and not meters...6x6m...

That leaves u with allot of diferent options, u could put 2x1000w lamps in something like a center lining running through the middle with parabolic reflectors and then go with 600w lamps on the sides for support bcuz i guess u'll have a sea of green with walk lines.

Lets say 2x1000w + 4x600w...there u got 4400w, i guess its not that odd on the electric bill etc.
Continue the list with white reflective wall sheets or whatever they are called, mylar is kinda expensive for covering that size of a room and its breakes easy and is anoying to cut up ^^...mylar is ofc the best but then u should probably glue it on to some cheap wooden boards or something similar and hang it like "paintings" next to eachother, then u can easily take it down for cleaning or if u temporarly need to stop growing and save all the equipment/moving. Allso it makes u able to angle the reflective light...

Anyway...enough about the least important, who cares about reflective materials first hand while designing their growroom anyway ^^.

Put allot of thought into ventilation and odor control, since u have a separate grow area that u can drill as many and big holes u want in it u should go with a huge diamater coal filter and exhaust and a adjustable and thermostat controled fan. if i where u i'd go with some nice big ventilated reflectors for the 600w lamps chained with ducting and then out of there. I guess u cant do that much about the 1000w with the parabols but the ventilation itself should be able to handle those, allso they are so bright that they need to hang at distance to avoid burning anyway, allso to give the big spread over the room from the center which is their main purpose. Probably u wont have problems with stretching.

Go with digital Lumatech ballast, the best and most expensive bulbs u can find, good expensive fans for both in and out, buy good soil and nutes and spend it all on making the stuff u buy working flawless first hand and put some extra cash into making it extra stealthy over co2 and other gadgets.

That is what i would do if i had 5 big ones, buy the best of the best basic equipment u need and make that work and then think about the stuff u might not even need.

Sorry if my post is confusing.. pretty baked here :)...aye make the light height adjustable, automatic lightrails are allso something to keep in mind =)

Good luck rich boy ;)

So here is a rough estimate i chose, after speaking with some of my investors (not a rich boy!) about how this was goin to come about. we decided to skip soil and go hydro(C.A.P EBB & Grow system w. Sure To Grow) for many reasons to which this will benefit what our team is trying to accomplish with this medical grow, so i dunno if im goin in the right direction with this shopping list but let me know what you think, your inputs are greatly appreaciated and will receive +rep.
