Just finished trimming 2-2.5 lbs with a buddy. Thank god it wasn't a leafy strain lol it only took us 3 12 hour days and a 1/2 oz in dabs.

I feel this might be a question you guys can answer.

I have used my scissors for 6 batches. How the hell do you sharpen them? Is it cheaper to just buy new scissors?

^^^ That's an OK scissor sharper. I have one.

Personally, I never scrape the scissors, as it leads to dulling of the blade. Rather, I submerge the blades in alcohol, wipe them down afterwards and forget about collecting the resins. Not worth it in the long run. Good luck.

Im not a big fan of trim time anymore either. i grow indoors but after 4 or 5 days of trimming a crop it gets redundent. I love the grow though and the end cured product but a week of trimming buds takes its tool especially if you have to do it 8 or so times a year.

That's exactly what I have been doing. Scraping the blades for resin. So I'll put a stop to that one. Thanks!

Trimming is how I got into growing...I needed some extra cash, a buddy asked if I wanted to make $30per hour trimming on weekends. Well the rest is history, I trim for a living now...yup it can be monotonous but music, good guys, and A LOT of joints helps things go WAY smoother.

I don't mean this as a jab at you but my pro trimmers did 4+lbs in a little less than 12hrs. Trim job was top notch and everything was neat and separated plus they brought everything they needed. No need to buy extra shears trim trays, etc.

12hrs for 4+ pounds!??!?

How many guys, and do they all have two hands??
It was a 2 person team- been doing it over 12yrs. Funny thing is they aren't the fastest out of the pool of trimmers that a group of us use. Just like any type of production work, if you do it long enough you develope the best and fastest techniques.

It amazed me. But I guess after working together for over 12yrs you pick up a system. I can only do about 1oz an hr. But I can only trim for 3 to 4hrs at a time, then I'm done for the day.

I know that different growing techniques will yield more leaves than others. I would say the the widest deviation in leaf growth is like 1 lb for every 10 lbs of bunk to 10 lbs with 2lbs of bunk. The pea buds that people at one time were so fond of in BC did in fact yield the most amount of bunk per pound.

i can trim for about 12-14 hours a day, and the more days in a row i do it, the more i want to do it.

but when i get back to the indoor stuff, i can't stand trimming for any amount of time and it takes me forever to do such small amounts as compared to outdoors.

kinda weird.

Neither of us are even close to being pros, he just called me up and said he would get me high if I gave him a hand. It would've also helped if we didn't have GTA5 and 60" TV a few feet from us the whole time...trim trim trim, hit a few dabs..play video games, trim trim trim, etc. haha.
