i hate deer...

the battle continues.. this has been a hell of an outdoor season so far. ive had constant deer problems since the very begining of the season. they just eat all my erkles and they took a good chunk out of all my afgooeys and they totally decimated my headband! my beloved headband got its entire headband chewed off!! hahah oh man.. anyway, i think ive got it under control now, ive filled the yard with these electric deer repelent stakes and they seem to be working... but oh man, its such a heart breaker to wake up to your favorite plant half eaten!

damn, that happened to me 2 nights ago. expect it was a caterpillar. I feel your pain bro

Yeah there are a lot of deer where I'm at too. Get some hair from a friend or something (not your own) and spread it around the site. They won't go near the smell of human. Just another idea if your electronic things don't work

its too windy to put down hair here, it would all just blow away the first day.

The hair doesn't work anyway. I've put bags full down. I've used bar after bar of soap. You name it, I've done it......except the electrical fence, but that sounds kind of pricey. A product called Deer Off does work, but I don't know if I'd want to use it on my "headband."

I work at a nursery/garden center and we sell "Liquid Fence" can't be it. All organic ( i think so don't quote me) and safe. Just spray a parameter of it around your plant. Repeat every 2-3 weeks more if deer seem to be coming frequently but its had about ~100% efficacy to the people we sold it to (as well as me, which I swear by it for growing outdoors) here's a link of what it is...

Remember spray around the plant like a deer pissing for its terrirotory or w/e animal does that. I would also mention that it repels small rodents/mammels as well too even though they advertise special formulations for other animals and insects. The "Deer & Rabbit Reppellent" seems to be the best universal option.

be creative and get the hair to stay out there make a little wind barrier or something. Hair has always worked for me.. Or you could go take a piss next to ur girls every few days.

anybody ever heard of bullets? they work everytime if used correctly. hang a pair of dirty underwear, teeshirt etc. also heard of spraying a red pepper water mixture on your plants. i dont think deer are into "mexican". good luck

oops, forgot about the hair....take a small square of cheese cloth and fill it up with hair and fold it up. secure with a string and leave the tail of the string long and tie to your plants. if you go to your barber, beautician, they will be more than happy to give you a big fat garbage bag of hair. tell them you are using it for tying flies for fishing.

Hi...I've never had a deer problem,even though there are deer all around my garden. I save my urine and spread it in all directions around my garden sight. If you're a vegan..don't bother. Only works for carnivours. I put more out only after it has rained.

We should all start hunting. Deer in ny suck. Sinthetic fox urine works but make sure your done and leaving b4 you spray it. I puked all over myself. Not kidding

I know what your talking about liquid fence is made with deer/rabit urine, rotten egg extract, organic chemical compound. Smells like TOTAL ASS def. dont get caught downwind or your screwed. BTW I'm pretty sure liquid fence can be bought at home depot or lowes....

they get stoned huh how come they dont eat the whole plant ?

i had an idea to protect my plant from animals if it ever ended up out doors. its like a version of the SOG method and you fence in your plant at the same time. my plan was to keep the plant indoors for like 2 weeks until it was good and strong and then put it outside in the ground with a chickenwire fence around it. as the plant grew out and vegetation went outside of the fence i would put another fence about 4 inches away from the first one and as the plant grew out i would repeat

dont feel bad man my last plants got eaten by a preditor in my own house, my fat old cat

i fucking hate deer to. a few years ago i put out like 30 plants....grew fine for the first 2 months..... got to like 2-3 feet in size. then next time i cam back i had 30 bare stems w/o a fucking leaf they ate it all.........!!!!!! fuck rabbits to, and slugs to a smaller degree

yes, LOWES has it , I use it faithfully and the stinking shit does work!

Ok, I joined here a,... well almost a year ago and never posted but I will enlighten you.
Hair is a waste of time, so is human urea. Build a damn good fence always works, 2nd, Liquid Fence works, but they will have to "eat" some to find out they don't like it!! Deer Netting (Ebay) is cheap and you need great corner posts as deer are powerful. Pred piss works too its pricey but so is your lost harvest!! I use chicken wire for ratz,wabbits etc & put copper tape around the stems no more slug/snail problems also add DE (Diatoemous Earth) over the topsoil no more crawlies!!
