I got the 'bugs be on my shiz but I'm too late into flowering to fix it' blues

So I've been doing some bug hunting in my closet to see the extent of the problem, and sadly to say, things are looking scary. I can identify at least three different types of bugs so far and in every e of life. Trips, aphids and fungus gnats. Believe it or not, still no spider mites. I guess the humidity is just too low and the temp too high here in Vegas. Anyways, even If I were to stop looking now, I'd have a big problem! I need to find something that can help me get rid of these little critters, problem is, today is day 28/wk 4 of flower. IS there anything that can help me at this point besides a miracle?

4 weeks, it's close but if they were real bad I would put a Pest Strip in the room for a week and then remove it and let the flowers finish. If you are an organics only type then you might not want to but I would do it.

I've always wondered why you can't have those in the room with flowering plants. Aren't pest strips the same as sticky traps?

No, the Pest Strips emit a chemical that falls on the plants and kills the bugs. Hence why people don't use them in flower. Reading up on it I discovered that some folks do use them in flower if bugs are bad but remove them the last 2-3 weeks and flush well.

Liquid Ladybug has been that miracle for me twice now. its 100% organic oil extracts such as peppermint and orange. it literally just sucks the moisture right out of the bug on contact killing it. It's also safe to use from clone to harvest as it does not have the same effect on plant tissue, will leave no residue as it just evaporates right up, and no taste from it. It's primarily made for mites but for me kills anything. I got rid of a bad bad root aphid infestation a while ago, and more recently got rid of some flying bug,i didnt even care to look it up i just puled out my spray bottle and overnight problem solved. i buy it at my local hydrostore for around $20 a bottle.

Azamax (as mentioned in first post) probably isnt your best option as it just starves the bugs and takes about 10 days to get through adults and then egs hatch and you have to get those over the course of a week before problem solved. so two weeks of treatment and sticky residue. Pest strips though could help but if used give them a good good flush and try to cut use 1 week at least before flushing

I have to agree Liquid Ladybug rocks! … It’s the only spray I have found that you can use under lights and won’t burn your plant, it just evaporates off in about 10-15 minutes and you can use it every day. Check out the video they have on their home page: http://www.spidermitekiller.com

take a 2 to 4 inches of soil out of top of pot, throw away the soil, replace with paver sand (home depot ) in garden section, no more gnats ,its what i did and have been doing to all my plants(its from watering to much)

Here is the best advice you are gonna get on this matter as i have dealt with everything you are describing except APHIDS.

Step1

Take the advice of the poster who mentioned the hot shots no pest strips. I ORDER THESE FROM US and in total i pay $36 for 3 of them. The shipping costs more than the strips.

Step2
Get yourself some SPINOSAD. Monteray Garden Insect Spray, Conserve Naturalyte anything with SPINOSAD in it.

Step3
Once they all arrive. Mix up some SPINSOSAD as per instructions and spray your entire closet and medium with the SPINOSAD MIX and also any areas around the outside of your closet.

Step4
Open up your STRIPS and place 1 inside your closet for 3 days.

Step5
After the 3 days of the strip being out spray the SPINOSAD mix again.

Step6
After another 3 days of the strip being out Spray the SPINOSAD mix again

Step7
After another 3 days of the strip being out spray again with the SPINOSAD mix

Step8
After the 9days of this procedure you should be clean again.

Also make sure you place some STICKY TRAPS blue's and Yellows all around your closet and maybe even stick some to your pots.

The blue's attract THRIPS, Yellows anything else.

I'm gonna follow this advice except I've settled on Ed Rosenthal's Zero Tolerance....sorry. It's the purist in me trying to keep it as organic ass possible. If this doesn't work. I'll go with the chems.
Here's what I'm gonna do.
Gonna buy ZT and neem oil, and make a solution of that and a few drops of soap in warm water and spray the place down (after I spot test on one plant...I've heard horror stories of plants burned to hell from ERZT) when the lights go off
That should take care of any nymphs and adults, the eggs that were laid in the soil will still hatch within the next 1-3 days.
I'm gonna place potato slices on the soil, cause apparently adults will lay their eggs in them and I can just toss them out.
2-3 after the first spray, I'll spray again
I know the spray doesn't kill larva but from what I've read, larva are REALLY hard to penetrate, so anything that is strong enough to kill larva, might be too strong for the plant...Idk, makes sense to me *shrug
After dong that 2-3 times I should be ok till harvest when I can pull everything and hit it with a flame thrower
....but then the cockroaches would survive and come back for revenge...*shifty eyes
I may have to go nuclear.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate it. I'm just working on a budget Potatoes will have to do lol

SPINOSAD is OMRI listed.

I think its $19.99 for a pint that you use 10-20ml's per litre of water.

There isnt much out there that kills THRIPS but i know from experience that SPINOSAD does, but if you noticed i didnt advise spraying your flowering plants thats why the hot shots was needed to kill anything living amongst your foliage.

No doubt man. I'm kinda alright. There are enough bugs that I need to do something about it, but not enough that I need to take drastic measures (I consider chemicals the last option when dealing with bugs). I'm gonna try this first and if I can't contain them I'll let you know so you can give me a big plate of 'I told you so.' lol

i am also 4 weeks away from harvesting my best looking crop in 10 years of growing and have aphids. if the damage does not get any worse i'm ok. but you never know what to expect. i used some of the sticky pest strips with no chemicals. this seems to have temporarily got them under control. i caught a lot of them. i then put up a new strip and there are very few on it over the last 24 hours. i think that means most of them are gone. i also used hot pepper was on the leaves. its all natural so it shouldn't hurt the buds, but i tried to stay away from buds. i dont want white widow and ice tasting like franks hot sauce. try the fly paper type strips. it appears to have caught most of mine. i will know in about a week. if the damage to the leaves is no worse then i will probably be ok.
