I got bugs in my hydroton rock!!!! What do i do???????

2gal ebb n flow buckets with hydroton rock an small rockwell pieces is my medium an i found bugs in the rock an also on the roots when u remove the outter/top bucket they r killing my roots!!!what r they ???what do i do??? They look like nats an there flying around an sitting on some of the leaves ...but do nats gather up on ur roots???? What is it????

if they are just white flys i wouldnt be too concerned about them u tend to encounter them with water and nutes, keep an air pump with an air stone in your res to prevent ur nutes/water from going anerobic....however if they are eating ur roots they arent just harmless white flys
