I Broke the number one rule, I am stupid.

When I first started growing I would hear how important it is to NOT TELL ANYONE! Well.....I broke it and now I am paying the price.

Rollitup has been a great site. I have learned so much from you guys, but I failed to follow the most important rule. I had a friend who I was close with for several years. He helped me start my grow op. I thought I could trust him. He use to grow too. He had an idea of when my plants would be ready for harvest. When my plant were done, I put the buds in Jars, to let them cure while I left the country for a month to go teach in Colombia. My so called friend knew the buds were curing while I was gone. Before I left, I hid the jars in a good place (thank God) That asshole told another dude about my grow op and they decided to rob me while I was gone. They popped out my kitchen window and boke in. He could not find were I hid my weed. But he stole a bud and a hit of hash out of my stash box (that was all i had out). When I got back I noticed that stuff missing, but my jars and block of hash were untouched (he could not find them) I knew someone messed with my shit but I could not put 2 and 2 together.
A few nights ago I got a knock on the door from a guy who I dont know. He told me he feels guilty. I asked why and he said while I was in Colombia him and my so called friend broke into the place. He said my friend told him about a grow op they can rob. Anyways, I got pissed and confronted my so called friend. He admitted it and told me that he was drunk. FUCK HIM! I am glad they did not get my buds but I was exposed. Now I have to move. I am really stupid. I was more upset with myself for not following the rules. Thats what I get, It could be worse. SO PLEASE LEARN FROM ME!!! DONT SAY SHIT TO NO ONE!!!! you will be put in jail or robbed like me. I have learned my lesson! I feel like a fool.

that sucks. I told one friend. I would trust him with my life. He's a good guy. Plus I need someone to water my plants and feed my cats if I go out of town. I have other friend who I'm closer with and have known longer, but I don't trust them. Sketcky assholes.

Kudos to you for letting the community know about the most important rule in growing. When asked on here what the most important tip I can give to a new grower, I tell them to keep your mouth shut. Usually I get blown off because they want the secret to the Holy Grail.

Hopefully, this "warning" from you will hit home with a few of these guys that like to talk about their grows.

It could have been so much worse. You're lucky. Sorry that shit happened though. People can be assholes.

I am lucky in alot of ways but I still feel like I failed. I cant wait to move, I feel so unsafe here.(in my house)

Your "friend" should already be very sorry for his lapse in reasoning. If you're packing up shop and clean at the moment, take care of him.

not trying to hijack the thread, but i had a friend who was growing from spring to fall, and when fall came he was going to pull i think 6 plants, all were around 4-6.5 feet tall. he decided to wait 1 day to pull, and that night, all the plants got snatched.

tip : dont have plants that can be seen over your fence.

only my mom and dad know about mine and im sure they whont say anything.

We are pioneers in the modern day gold rush... It will be legal soon enough I'm sure of it.

In this situation, I am a bit different. Although the only people that know about my grow are growing themselves. Its a very close group of friends, that all help each other. It may be the number one rule, but there are exceptions. We all mutually decided to start making our own medicine rather than buying it. As patients, and a recently approved Medi Mari law. We are within our rights. When we were buying it on the streets, we also did so together. If one needed it we all got it.
Its unfortunate that most think that NO ONE can ever be trusted. Believe it or not there are still some that can. Theres no way to tell how many successful MORE THAN ONE PERSON grows there are out there, the only ones you hear about are the ones that get caught.
